He never was much of an expert, and when he lost his edge with sources (meaning, information was available to everyone) he had very little to offer
REED Had 1-2 VERY Brief Conversations w/the Dude... Seemed Decent Enough On the Surface, But His Written Boxing Thoughts were CLEARLY Swayed By Whatever Entity was PAYING Him...Thus, He Never Came Across as a GENUINE "Boxing Guy"... REED
Fat Dan lost the LAST bit of credibility he had when he scored Hurd over J-Rock. J-Rock won 9 rounds for Christ sake.
Amongst Other Instances Over the Years, THIS Is Part of What REED Meant By Rafael’s Boxing Opinion Being Swayed by Money. J-Rock Kicked Hurd’s Ass AND Dropped Him. Even a Draw Would’ve Been ABSURD On Rafael’s Part... Nonetheless, He Penned an Article/Post Proclaiming Hurd the Winner, Under the GUISE Of “Objectivity”? REED
Yeah, I just think he has limited boxing knowledge. I'm not saying he's NOT a fan. He obviously likes and follows the sport... but his knowledge is less than most of us. Not even the most knowledgeable boxing guy at ESPN. Max, hate him or love him, has forgotten more boxing than Fat Dan knows. I think Max being around kinda made Fat Dan obsolete on the boxing side at ESPN.
I agree but I've seen this same dumbfuck issue incomprehensible scorecards for clear cut fights i was sitting a few rows behind him at where he couldn't have possibly had any agenda
I know Disney owns ESPN and I am sure they had to "lighten" their payroll in the wake of things presently as they have been hit very hard.
Hence the sarcasm Karl. Disney, like Amazon, pays its workers poverty wages while its execs make millions. And Bob Iger, like Jeff Bezos, is a piece of shit.
I suppose,I don't know much about him other than when he took over Disney wasn't doing so hot and he transformed it into a giant beginning with The Little Mermaid which every kid saw at the movies and then bought the VHS tape - I think it has been 30 or more years.
I was reading about that recently. The Little Mermaid was beginning of what was known as the Disney Renaissance, but it was actually The Great Mouse Detective in 1986 that saved Disney Animated Studios from going under. That was their first animated hit in forever. The Little Mermaid then raised the bar. But ultimately, it was Beauty in the Beast in 91 that REALLY became a mainstream powerhouse of a movie... in many ways Beauty in the Beast changed animated kids movies forever, as it was the first to be nominated for an Oscar. I won't lie, I've been watching a lot of old Disney movies w/my kid lately on Disney+. Beauty in the Beast is by far the best animated film Disney ever made. Movies like Aladdin and Lion King are kinda lame now.
