    Who wins?

I'd take Honeyghan, personally. By decision.

I think his rough, awkward, swarming style was all wrong for Forrest.

    Honeyghan is pretty underrated.

When I was younger I didn't give him any credit for the Curry win, but at this point I no longer buy the excuse that the loss was allllll due to Curry being drained.

I think Honeyghan was wrong for Curry. And Curry was a helluva better than Forrest... at everything.

Curry was otherwise better than Forrest but Vernon was more constant performer inside a fight, whereas Curry's boxing was endless mixture of fabulous moves and clumsy mistakes.

As for this fight, I haven't seen all that much of Honeygan but I'd pick him even though Forrest's jab would definitely be a problem

I disagree. Vernon Forrest was hardly the picture of consistency. The guy had one fight in his career where he looked spectacular, and he fumbled the ball big time in both Mayorga fights.

I might also add that he fumbled the ball in the first fight with Sergio Mora and he got totally outclassed by a WASHED UP Quartey, only to receive one of the biggest gifts in boxing history.

Curry was spectacular pretty consistently over a three-year period (83-85).

I'm not saying this would be a wipeout, but Honeyghan presents the same problems for Forrest that Mayorga did, only Honeyghan was a helluva lot faster, and more skilled than Mayorga, and threw crisp, compact combos unlike Mayorga's sloppy combos.

Curry was gone against Honeyghan ... it’s not germane to the topic

Honeyghan can absolutely force Vernon into the kind of sloppy fight that favors him... I think he wins

Honeyghan could be explosive early in fights, but his stamina could fail him badly at times - and that was disastrous for him when it did, because he relied on his offense for his defense.

I think if Forrest withstands Honey's early blitz, he takes over in the middle rounds and then stops him late.
