Gavilan is slick enough to take away some of Curry’s offensive effectiveness and his work rate diminishes Curry’s ... add in the fact the guy was basically indestructible and it’s a decision win via outworking ... if Curry was a more of a mover like a Bobby Dykes, his chances would improve but Curry wasn’t that style of boxer really ... be a very watchable fight but Gavilan pretty clear, both at their bests

Gavilan also has a handspeed edge, that's gonna be problematic for Curry.

Gavilan perhaps the toughest fighter ever - never stopped and he'd be far too strong and durable for Donald. Would wear him out and stop him late much like the Gil Turner fight.

    I concur Stinger.

The Keed had a toughness about him that Curry simply lacked. He'd chew Curry up on the inside.

I think Curry is a prime example of a fighter that was too "by the book" - meaning he had trouble fighting outside the book when he faced an opponent who was unorthodox or unpredictable. Gavilan may not have had the punching power to KO or even seriously hurt Curry, but I think his speed, versatility, and constant switching of tactics would keep Curry on the defensive and get him a decision win.

I feel Gavilan would wear Curry out much similar to way he did Gil Turner.
