I feel like this is the kinda random MM Double would come up with.

In any case, this would have been a good action fight. Both guys were on a similar level. You can say Rios had a better career because of his lightweight run, but Diaz got more done at 140.

    I'd pick Diaz.

I'd go with Diaz too. He had better stamina and workrate.

I'd pick Rios. A bit more compact with his punches

Diaz beat up Mickey Ward, and given how suspect Rios was to the body, im not sure Rios gets past Ward.

I randomly watched Diaz's beatdown of Ivan Robinson last night on YT. I hadn't watched it since it happened live (on the undercard of Vargas-Quartey).

Double is right - Diaz had a better engine and a better workrate.

I remember Diaz giving a good account of himself against Margarito, but ultimately getting worn down and stopped cause Margarito was too big and strong.

Of course, peak Mosley completely blew Diaz away, but there's no shame in that.

Diaz Was a Better, (MUCH) More Well Rounded Fighter than Brandon Rios...Not as Big of a 'Name', Per Se, but a BETTER Fighter Clearly...

If Mike Alvarado Could Beat Rios, Antonio Diaz Beats him 7 or 8 Out of 10...

Theres nothing that suggests that. Rios couldn't even "wallop" a complete bum like John Murray.

Rios was notoriously weak to the body. Ward might have stopped him.

He beat Murray handily. And Ward was also a complete bum. He had an excellent left hook to the body but beside that, complete bum

It just so happens that Ward's main weapon works perfectly for one of Rios' biggest weaknesses.

Honestly, I can't help but feel like Ward would have stopped Rios to the body.

Was Rios really vulnerable to the body??. I recall Bradley caving him with bodyshots, but he was getting his ass beaten pretty badly before

Acosta hurt him to the body. That I remember. I also remember Antilion bothering him a bit to the body, but Antillion was too fragile and got wasted.

Wasn't Rios also dropped early in his career with a body shot?
