Hard Imagining a FINESSE Fighter Getting a Decision Over Canelo...Floyd 10-2'ed Him & Still Only Got 2 of the 3 Scorecards...

You Mentioned Canelo-BJ Saunders Being a LESS than Scintillating Fight; REED Doesn't See Canelo-Plant Being Much More Fan-Friendly Either, On Paper...

It DOES Come Off as Some Overtly Supportive, Sympathetic, Buddy-Buddy Ass Shit, Which is STRANGE Because Verg is BRUTALLY Honest, to a Fault @ Times...

I would've liked to see Saunders vs. Alvarez. My question is, what the fuck is happening with Andrade?

I already said it's doubtful Plant will get the decision.

I'm simply saying he can beat him in the eyes of the public.

Maybe the answer to eventually wiping Canelo out lies in Edgar Berlanga, but it's still premature to tell.

It's possible though... that by 2022 Berlanga will be an extreme threat to Canelo.

I'm not UNfond of Benavidez. Not at all.

He's talented, he's just gotta get his shit together. If focused and in shape, yeah, he can beat Canelo. But he has an obvious cocaine problem.

I just think Berlanga has the potential to be better, as he has legitimate one punch fight-ending power.

Benavidez is more of a wear you down guy.

Moving AWAY from Phoenix Should Be Good for Him...

He Doesn't Have Generational Power, the Likes Berlanga SEEMS to Have, But Benavidez Can Hurt You w/Either Hand...Good All Around Skillset, Array of Punches and he's COMFORTABLE as Fuck in the Ring...

REED's Been High on Benavidez for a Minute Now...

If the version of Benavidez who beat the living shit outta Dirrell shows up against Canelo, then Ginger is in huge problem.

This is not prime Roy Jones we're talking about here. In other words, it's not all that hard to beat Canelo. He is NOT a special fighter.

It's getting the decision over the motherfucker that's hard.

Yeah, Canelo Would Have Major Trouble w/Benavidez's SKILLS, SIZE, LENGTH, YOUTH, COMBINATIONS, All of It...

& For that Very Reason, He'll Be The LAST "Name" Fighter from '68 to '75 Canelo Faces...The Onus is On Benavidez to KEEP Himself Relevant in the Meantime...

We'll never, ever see the third. Canelo would get butchered, and Beterbiev is a no-name to casuals.

Charlo though, yeah, we'll see that with Canelo now gone from DAZN.

Like I said, IF Canelo gets past Plant, then I think Canelo-Charlo gets made for September 2021.

There's gonna be a COVID vaccine by spring, which means they'll be a huge crowd in attendance by time next fall rolls around.

Canelo Ain't Going Anywhere Near Beterbiev...

Unlike Kovalev, Beterbiev Would Actually FIGHT Like He's the Bigger, Stronger Man...

Canelo's not a spring chicken anymore. If he fights Charlo next fall like I suspect, Jermall might be catching him at the right time.

Smith looked good for a few fights i watched and seemed to have some similar advantages benavidez does over Alvarez but then looked shitty vs ryder I think ?

    Got gift against Ryder.

I see Smith as the weakest link outta Benavidez and Plant. I'd pick both over him.

He looked good in stopping George Groves, but Groves only had one good shoulder and was always chinny.

I give Callum virtually no chance against Canelo.

I fully expect Canelo to break him down and stop him, just as he did to his brother.

Maybe smith looked like shit on purpose. Looking good hurts his chance at a Canelo fight. :Jest:

Not a bad fight. Gotta give it to Canelo, he's always taking on good opposition

It'll be more fan friendly for casuals.

Plant-Canelo would have been a chessmatch.

True. However much you hate Canelo (and there is plenty of reason), you must admit that he faces tough challenges. Smith is a bigger guy and the WBSS winner.

Also I see Canelo as better than most here. IMO he has developed year after year and probably has a couple more years left in his prime, and I'd pick him over everyone around 160-168.

Also, a bit too much is made out of his gift decisions. GGG I was a disaster but for example the verdict over Lara wasn't a gift by any means

Canelo isn't as good as his hype, that's the point I'm always getting at.

He is a very good fighter, and currently the favorite over anyone from 154-168.

I think there's four guys from 160-168 who would be live underdogs to pull an upset: Charlo, Andrade, Benavidez, and Plant. Can't put Berlanga on that list yet, it's too early.

But obviously, it would be wisest to make Canelo the betting favorite over any of the four.

Notice, Smith isn't on that list.

Callum is too stiff and hittable to have a chance.

It's a legit matchup though, and Canelo should not be criticized for it.

Much better than him facing Billy Hoe Saunders.

I don't see Canelo barely breaking a sweat vs Plant. He's been in wars and beat everyone save for Floyd. He'll have Plant clutching his body tight just waiting to get his head KO'd.
