We should stick to a list of junior welters in history Garcia loses to. That could fit in one thread. The list of welterweights in history he loses to is endless.
Oh God. Danny's not that bad. He beats Urkal. Urkal's claim to fame was giving Tszyu a tough fight, but looking back, Tszyu took him pretty lightly. Definitely a lethargic, half-assed Tszyu in that fight. Vivian Harris twice spanked Urkal.
Tszyu lights Garcia up. Gives him a beating. You're not gonna beat Tszyu with Danny's style and workrate. Methodical counterpunching wasn't the key to beat Tszyu. Pressure was the key, getting him outside his comfort zone, and roughing him up. A style like Pryor or Duran would be the most nightmarish for Tszyu. To beat Tszyu as a boxer, I think you need to be an exceptional boxer - i.e. Whitaker, Floyd, Benitez, Carlos Ortiz, and maybe Locche. Not no Danny Garcia.
Off the top of my head, here are list of junior welterweights since 1990 who DEFINITELY beat Garcia. Like Danny has no case. Chavez M.Taylor Whitaker Oscar Floyd Tszyu Pac Cotto Crawford Frankie Randall: The version from the first Chavez fight. Here are guys who I'd favor over Garcia, but it's not a definite. But still, Garcia would be an underdog. Bradley Hatton Here are guys who have had a very good chance at beating Danny: Vince Philips Prime Zab Prime Sharmba Mitchell
Tszyu is insanely overrated. Old little Leija gave him a good.fight by standing his ground and throwing wide counters. I could see Garcia duplicate this.strategy but with more success
Tszyu was no longer in his prime when he fought Leija. He had noticeably slowed - his handspeed, power, and reflexes. I'm talking the circa 99-00 Tszyu. Or even going back, the circa 96 Tszyu who was looking sharp before losing to Philips.
My history with Tszyu is well know, but there's only 3 junior welterweights in the last 20 years who I'd favor over prime Tszyu: Floyd, Pac, and Crawford. Tszyu beats guys like Garcia, Bradley, and Josh Taylor, IMO.
Not sure i really believe that. He was coming off some of the best performance of his career going into the Leija fight, and he was in his early 30s. Im not picking garcia over him, but i dont think hes without a chance
Danny versus Hatton or Bradley are good matchups. I think Bradley was all wrong for him, but Danny's got a real shot against Hatton.
Same here. Bradley probably is a bit too slick for him. Him vs Hatton would be a war. Hatton is the favorite, but again, i think garcia has a good chance
Danny can't fight on the inside to save his life, so if Hatton keeps it there, he controls the fight. At mid range, if Hatton walks into a big hook, or gets caught pulling out with a big hook, he could definitely get put on his back.
The Camacho who beat Howard Davis at 140 would outclass Danny by a wide margin. Camacho was still in his prime then, and waayyyy too fast and mobile for lead footed Danny. And considering Hector's granite chin, can't even give Danny a puncher's chance. I can't think of too many opponents worse for slow ass Danny than Camacho.
Any guy like Floyd, Camacho, Benitez, Locche, or Whitaker is gonna be horrible for Danny Garcia. Mel Taylor would be horrible for him also.
