Who wins? Sanchez is more "legendary," but Pedroza was no less accomplished, and the styles favor Pedroza. Sanchez's best shot is by stoppage, because I don't see him outboxing Pedroza.
Pedroza never lost by UD. He wasn't some hot head like Terry Norris, so that latter prediction is a cop out.
You need to watch a lot more of a prime Pedroza, Doub. He was faarrrr from plodding. Thats a ridiculous statement. Watch the late 70s Pedroza. He was far quicker of hand and foot than Sanchez. He was also a much more elusive target than Sanchez, with a better jab, and a higher workrate
I think Pedroza would have been Sanchez biggest threat who could have pulled an upset, but this is also the same Pedroza who lost early fights via KO to tomato cans, so I'll give the edge to Sanchez to stop him via TKO in the late rounds.
If Memory Serves, Pedroza Was the One that Cock Blocked This One from Happening...They Possessed Similar Attributes, But REED Rates Sal a Bit HIGHER In Most of Those Attributes... Bit Faster, Bit Harder of a Puncher, Better Defensively, Better Combination Puncher, etc... Some Guys are Dirty Because They're Just MEAN, SADISCTIC Motherfuckers...Other Guys are Dirty Because They Feel they NEED an Advantage...REED Always Got the Impression Pedroza was in the LATTER Group of "Dirty"... It Would Be a Chess Match for Sure, But REED Can't See Pedroza Beating Sanchez Straight Up...He Would HAVE to Illegally Compromise Sanchez in SOME Capacity, to Win... REED
Pedroza has always been one of the most confounding fighters for me to try to figure out. Sometimes I think he was an overachieving stinker who relied on dirty tactics to edge out the better contenders he fought, other times I think he was a genuinely great fighter who never got the chance to demonstrate his quality against another great fighter. I guess I don't actually have a predication for this thread... just came here to vent that.
I would go with pedroza. Think he can make this a semi inside fight, and he had some slick body shots, which would make the difference
He was an outstanding technician and his dirty tactics get overblown. I liken Pedroza's style to a mix of Hopkins and his (Pedroza's) Panamanian predecessor, Ismael Laguna.
