@Ring Leader have you seen enough of Chang to make a call on this? While Lopez is considered greater, I think Chang would win at 108. In many ways, Chang was Duran-esque (obviously not as good). I think his unorthodox style and relentless high-speed pressure would beat Finito.
I'd say Chang was better, bigger and greater. I see no reason to pick Lopez, to be frank. Unless you're thinking he'll walk Chang onto enough big shots to break Chang down, to which I say that Chang would revert to more of a boxing style, like he did vs Torres.
I think I might personally underrate Lopez sometimes because of his putrid opp, but he was a sharp enough and big enough puncher to where I cant write him off against Chang, but I WOULD make Chang a solid favorite. I actually feel like peak Zapata is a worse matchup for Lopez than Chang.
I feel like I do similar, but then when I appreciate his skills and realise just how much, I think I may overrate him (again, due to how dire his opposition was). It's unforgivable that he didn't even try to fight Carbajal or Chiquita. I actually feel like Zapata was the most talented of all three of those, and defensively, one of the top five (or so) most talented to ever do it. The guy was absolutely insane. He just had quite a few other issues, but I think he'd knock seven shades of shit out of Lopez.
Yeah, Zapata is easily a top 10 all time defensive wiz. Hard to say where he ranks between Pep, Whitaker, Floyd, Benitez, Locche, Canto, but he might be right after those guys. Like fellow southpaw defensive genius, Whitaker, Zapata was ultimately ruined by the nose candy.
