Pryor wins, but not an easy fight for him at all. Ortiz was a helluva technician, and a helluva counterpuncher who was extremely good at making adjustments and taking guys apart. I do think Pryor with his dynamic attack and aggression wins out in a competitive fight. I'm in the minority with this thinking, but I'd pick Ortiz to beat Chavez.
I pick Pryor as well. Close but clear decision win. Chavez vs Ortiz is very close. Almost too close to sll. At 135 I'd take Chavez, though.
I can understand the argument for Pryor, as he would probably be the most dynamic fighter Ortiz ever faced. However, I'd also argue that the reverse is also true, plus Ortiz has more depth to his resume and has demonstrated his prowess against a wide array of styles at the top level. Tough fight to call IMO. Here's footage of Ortiz at 140 for anyone who's interested:
Tough to call on that one too. It would be a case of a more well-rounded fighter (Ortiz) facing a fighter who is better specialized in a particular style.
The full Battling Torres fight is online, and that fight was at 140 as well. I've changed my pick - I would take Ortiz in a close one over Pryor.
