They fought at different weightclasses each campaigned in, going 1-1 (as I saw it), but of the three divisions Mosley has ventured into, this is the only one where they didn't meet. Both enjoyed power, size speed advantages at 135, as well as being the bigger man by virtue of draining. Both looked mightily strong, but didn't face their best adversaries until moving higher in weight.

Who takes this ferociously fast battle of the Cali youngbloods?

I don't think Oscar can come forward, playing puncher vs Shane and beat him. Shane eats that Mexican style up. And at 135, that's pretty much what Oscar did. I think it'd look like much like the first one and probably even more emphatic down the stretch. Both guys hurting each other more throughout, even more excitement.

Probably a genuine fight for the ages, but ultimately a bad night for Oscar. Mosley 116-111 (after a KD). A rematch at any weight favours Oscar more I think because he was smart enough to put the pieces together & come up with a better strategy 2nd time round.

Mosley's speed is the difference between the two. It would always be a close fight. But Shane just has his number IMO.

If he had his number, he wouldn't have lost the rematch.

Oscar won the rematch and was robbed, IMO. The surprise on Shane's face after the decision was announced suggests Shane thought Oscar won as well.

I see DLH going through his usual pattern of dominating the early rounds, and then fading and losing a decision.

That wasn't a pattern at Lightweight.

I think DLH was more impressive at 135 than Mosley. Mosley sometimes seemed to me like he was a bit lacking in physical strength at the weight. DLH looked more powerful and comfortable at the weight IMO. I favor DLH on points.

Mosley fought pretty shit comp at LW. ODH's wasn't spectacular, but he did face Hernandez and Ruelas.

I still wish Mosley had faced Johnston at 135.

By the way, would be cool if Ramonza came back. Used to like his posts.

Pretty weird that dlh was the better puncher at lw, but that at higher weight shane semmed to carry more pop than him

Yeah Ramonza was a good poster. A bit too obsessed with old shitty fighters, but a cool, knowledgeable and respectful guy

I always felt Mosley really drained himself to get down to 135. He was much stronger at 147 IMO, while still retaining the same speed.

Conversely, I feel DLH was at his peak at 135-140 and lost something when he stepped up to 147.

Hernandez's entire prime was spent at 130, and Ruelas wasn't very durable.

Shane impressed me more at 135 than Oscar did. It was Shane's peak weight.

    Oscar really peaked at 140.

Mosley wins at lightweight. I say that with little hesitation.

Would have been fun to see shayne at 140. I think think he would have been an absolute murderer at that weight

He would have certainly battered Tszyu.
