How does Loma fare picking on a Cuban his own size?

Truthfully, while Loma would be the favorite, I wouldn't discount Casamayor at all.

I can't help but feel that Joel's accurate left hand would bust Loma up.

And Casamayor was physically stronger than Loma, so Loma wouldn't be able to bull him the way he did tiny Rigo.

The rigondeaux fight meant nothing. Said it at the time. Rigo was an old tiny midget

To be honest w/you, a Loma-Frietas matchup is interesting to me at 130.

Frietas was a helluva lot better than Walters, Martinez, and Sosa.

Given Frietas' athleticism and frightening power at 130, I wouldn't call a Loma win a foregone conclusion.

I think Walters became underrated after his loss to Loma. He did, however, beat the shit out of Donaire and Darchinyan and beforehand the fight was supposed to be close.

In the Loma bout he showed limitations (not very different to Freitas in fact) but Loma does deserve props for making that happen.

There's just a big disparity in comp between the two.

It's been years since I've watched it, but I recall a well past his prime Casa pushing a prime Castillo (who probably had 15 pounds on him) close.

Yeah, Walters beat the shit outta Donaire and Vic at 126.

Both Donaire and Vic had their prime years at 112-118.

I'm talking at 130, Frietas was a lot more formidable than Walters.

If Neil picks against Casamayor, that must mean something.

I feel it's a very compelling matchup. As far as junior lightweight southpaws go, I'd favor Camacho over both.

Thinking about it, I'd go Casamayor myself. Just based on the styles they fought.

I don't know what southpaw pressure fighters with short arms, a probing jab and late round stamina (not being a snarky little gobshite either, I honestly think he fought some as an amateur. Has to be some wily Cubans like that out there) but I do know which orthodox pressure fighters he fought, and I know he did well. I also know he had a damn good chin, surviving Corrales and Popo.

I do know that Loma doesn't like it to the body. Doesn't like Southpaws. Doesn't like upper echelon ring generals. Doesn't like dirty infighting.

    Who does that sound like?
