I was somewhat disappointed not seeing in the trailer Daniel LaRusso's former tormentors, Terry Silver & Mike Barnes, nor Elisabeth Shue as Dr. Ali Mills. I don't care about Daniel's trip to Okinawa: I just want to see Johnny Lawrence get into Miguel's MILF mom's panties!
I'm expecting Barnes and Silver next season or in the S3 finale. If you don't care about Chozen and Kumiko then you don't care about the Karate Kid. Miguel's mom and Johnny have a big problem to overcome. Ali will show up but they obviously don't want to show that yet.
To be honest Karate Kid II was my least favorite film of the trilogy. I rank the Hillary Swank one shot above it. Watched it once and regretted the experience. So I understand that it needs a place here, but I don't care about it. Heck, bring Hillary Swank for a cameo. She ain't that busy lately.
hopefully the storyline moves away from Daniel as much as possible...Macchio's acting just doesn't cut it
The Okinawa bits were cool but otherwise the season wasn't quite as good as the first two. Violence is cool, but here it seemed to fill the gaps where they had no idea of how to continue the story
I liked it. They brought back three characters from the old movies which was a nice fan service, but also advanced the developing of Daniel's character. I am almost sure the last phone call cliffhanger will be bringing two baddies from the past for season 4. Robby is now officially this franchise's Anakin Skywalker. But overall, yeah, it wasn't as good as the first two seasons.
It is a show about karate though. They could tone it down some but to the writers credit the fights do continue the conflict rather than just being random. I actually thought season 3 was better than season 2. The ending was great. Daniel vs ***** was long overdue. 35 years in the making. If you know the orignal movie dialogues by heart then there is so many little payoffs. The best payoff so far was the ending of the Okinawa trip and who ends up helping Daniel. That was brilliant.
Watching season 3 but getting bored with it. Feels like it ran it's course... that blonde guy's son annoys the shit out of me... him and his shitty acting... with his "deep romantic" stares.... ugh I also find it incredibly hilarious with the girls fighting and beating up men Or for instance a ridiculous scene where my aforementioned favorite is practice fighting larusso's daughter and of course every head kick misses and it's a tie and they kiss or something and it's sooooo romantic ... but this guy literally tried to kick you in the face with his shoe 5 seconds ago ... what if the kick lands shatters her jaw blood everywhere ambulance comes everyone crying.... but ya head shots always miss .... wouldn't be so romantic if they didn't
