With any luck, MAYBE MAYBE this will be the next great Rican vs Mexican matchup in a few years. But Berlanga just admitted that isn't ready. He said he has to go rounds first, and prove it to the critics and HIMSELF.

I think it's a good sign that he's realistic. It wouldn't be a good sign if he said, "Yeah, I'll destroy Benavidez tomorrow."

It shows maturity that he realizes he ain't ready yet.

But hopefully by 2023, this is a superfight.

As much as I want this fight to happen I seriously doubt Benevides will be around to fight Berlanga in 2023. He showed he lacks the discipline to make weight 168 and loves that yayo a little too much.

Benavidez could easily lose his standing in 2 years' time.

I'm tryna be optimistic. Benavidez is still only 24.

It's really sad to see people talk about a 24 year like he's a wasted talent already.

He damn sure aint headed down the right path, but its too early to write him off.

On ESB, most ppl were saying that ole Callum Stiff would beat Benavidez.

    Thats always been hilarious.

Benavidez would batter Smith 10 minutes after snorting lines.

Who's writing him off? Fact is, if Berlanga waits 2 years to really step up, that echelon won't necessarily include Benavidez.
