Mab is too good to not be at least a bit competitive, but it would get uglier and uglier for him as the rounds goes by
Barrera from Marquez or Pacquiao II gets absolutely annihilated if Chavez is on song. I suppose he could potentially be competitive if Chavez is having one of those fights like he did with Laporte and Lockridge, where he scraped and struggled in tough, good fights. That's if Barrera shows up like he did for Morales III. That was his best incarnation at 130, IMO, And both Morales and Barrera had declined massively since their first fight.
I think Chavez basically blows Barrera away the way he did Ruben Castillo. I suppose MAB might last a bit longer, but not by much.
That's a good analogy. In the Chavez v Castillo fight, the skill level was so high and seemed so even at the beginning but Chavez took him apart. Barrera can't outfight Chavez. In similar cases Barrera used his boxing skills and intelligence but Chavez can outbox him and is more ring savvy.
