Erik Morales vs Juan Manuel Marquez

Who wins?

Can't be just me who thinks Morales pulls it off.

 

I think Marquez is more well-rounded and wins it on points.

 

There was a time when I used to say Morales, but not anymore. In short, I just think Marquez was the better fighter. JMM's greater power, skill, and accuracy should see him win a competitive, yet deserved decision.

 

Way back in time, I thought that Marquez would beat Barrera and Morales.

 

Yeah. Morales makes it a war and hard for jmm, but he gets countered too much and lose eventually

 

You have to figure Morales, based on his style, would improve on what barrera was able to do, at least that's my opinion. And so given that mab/jmm was a very close fight, a morales win is not an unreasonable prediction. Morales was always more of a sharp-shooter than mab.

Which weight?

2002 Morales v 2004 Marquez? Morales.

2004 Morales v 2007 Marquez? Marquez.

 

Yeah. And I think the differences in style would put Morales in better stead compared to MAB.

 

I think JMM was better and wins. I loved Erik. A great action fighter. But JMM really was a beautiful inside counter puncher who you couldn't nail to the floor to stop. He might have some scary moments. He might have to get off the floor. He often did. But in the end, I see JMM putting together those beautiful counter combinations inside and winning a classic, late.
