I find Ward more entertaining on the whole. He was in more barn burners which I revisit than Gatti was, in fights vs: Phillips, Green, Sanchez, Neary, Diaz, Augustus and of course, the Gatti trilogy itself. I personally find that collection of fights more entertaining than Gatti's fights with Ruelas, Rodriguez, Robinson, Manfredy and Patterson.

I also find that centurion style pressure, with the nasty left hook down to the body a more appealing style than Gatti's "start boxer, immediately revert to slugger". Ward was also quite a fluid combination puncher in his pomp, too.

ward was a very ordinary fighter to me. Phillips and Diaz beat the hell out of him, green (suspect stoppage) and augustus shouldve gotten the decisions. sanchez was also beating the crap outta him prior to the body shot KO.

Id say Augustus - Ward may be the most entertaining fight that either was involved in, with gatti vs rodriguez second. I preferred watching gatti

Gatti reminds me of a poor man's Mando Ramos.

In many ways, yes, its a good comparison.

Gatti was a less talented, less skilled Mando Ramos.

If it is out there, watch Ward fight Joey 'Bugsy' Farrell. Many years ago on ESPN. Ward stopped him in 2 after he hurt him to the body. Bugsy was bent over, trying to block body punches with his head.
Bugsy was a guy that gave you 6-8 hard rounds on the way up.

Gatti. Ward was way too plodding for me. Had good fights for sure, but it lacked the crazyness of Gatti better ones

Gatti, I felt he was more explosive and more vulnerable, and that made him way more compelling to watch for me.
