Chavez was too small. He might have been able to beat some weaker titlists at WW (a rematch with Taylor), but not someone like Ike.
Yeah, Chavez would lose to any and every very good welterweight in history, nevermind the welterweight greats. He could beat a scrub like Thurman or Cherry Garcia. Ike is way too strong with too much firepower.
