Darryl Pinckney holds stoppage wins over Jr. Jones (before he beat Barrera) and Guty Espadas Jr. (undefeated at the time). Pinckney had a .500 record at the time he KO'd Jones and finished his career with about twice as many losses as wins.

This is his upset of Jones:

Soldier Bartfield is the epitome of this.

Also, wtf does .500 mean? Equal amount of losses to wins?

Bartfield couldn’t have been a scrub, though, could he? He seemed to be a legitimate Welterweight contender for the first half of his career and at least a fringe Middleweight contender for a period afterwards. More to the point, he probably faced the best opposition that any fighter has ever faced in the history of boxing. And continued to do so well after his prime years were gone.

Let’s play the conjecture game and analyze his 117-76-28 record a bit:

Bartfield went just 21-43-10 after his last quality win over Britton in 1918 (excluding shot Billy Papke), which was the last hurrah for him. In that time he fought Greb, Leonard X4, Walker X3, Britton, Gibbons X2, O’Dowd X2, Slattery, Bogash X2, Malone, Schoell X2, Downey X2, Wells X2, Wilson, etc. which accounts for over half of those losses.

Had he retired after that second win over ATG Jack Britton his career record would’ve been 96-33-18, with wins over ATGs Greb, Gibbons, Britton X2, Lewis X2, O’Dowd, and good to great fighters in McCarron X3, Downey, Fitzgerald, McCoy X2, etc. About 70% of those losses coming to the same class of opponent.

He was already slipping by then (as evidenced by his 3-9-4 record in his last 16 fights), so it would’ve been a reasonable time to call it quits. Had he, we might be looking at him as one of the best contenders to never win the championship instead of this mysterious anomaly we see him as today.
