Oscar, while being trained by Jesus Rivero, was a work of art in progress. His potential was subsequently wasted by well known trainers that didn't understand the fighter's qualities and tried to make him into something that he wasn't meant to be. Meldrick was too easy to hit and he shouldn't be able to box with Oscar. In a perfect world, a Rivero trained DLH would beat Taylor easily with his left hand, Meldrick wouldn't get close enough to fight him. In reality, if Oscar listens to the voices in his camp telling him that he is a devastating puncher and decides to walk forward with his gloves like earmuffs...it will be a harder fight but DLH should still win by virtue of landing harder punches.
I think Taylor is winning by a mile before getting out on his arse while trading left hooks. De La Hoya finishes him there and thern IMO, but it's a good matchup.
I think it would take more than one punch to stop a prime Taylor at 140 - it would take a beating, and I dont know if Oscar was capable of that. I'm still picking Taylor. I think his handspeed, workrate, and infighting ability is wrong for DLH.
