I was confusing Barrios and Joshua Franco for a minute. If they fight, I will be wanting the San Antonio fighter to win. That town is a boxing hotspot and has been turning out many solid pros.
I don't see why it doesn't happen. The fat bastard won't attempt to make 130 anymore, and matchups with Lopez, Garcia, or Haney are pipe dreams at this point. 140 means he can be less disciplined and still make the weight. So who would they pick at 140? Sure as fuck not Prograis. Barrios makes a lot of sense. He's a limited, beatable guy with a Texas fanbase. The fight makes all the sense in the world. I think it'll happen.
I've long expected Tank's career to go down the drain. He's undisciplined, clearly ducks the best and has the same sort of lifestyle that somebody like Broner leads. His boxing career Wil either be pissed down the drain by ducking or inactivity, or by a prison sentence/legal issues. In the long run I expect he'll go from being seen as a potential top fighter, to an annoyance, to a complete meme. Or, all three at once. This is a good step up, and a fight which is reasonable. I think they may look for Baranchyk with his horrible defence, or perhaps Redkach after seeing their sparring sessions.
In a dream world, after Barrios, we would see Davis vs Prograis - but we all know damn well Floyd ain't gonna let Tank fight Regis.
