The man who beat Henry Armstrong vs the man who beat David Diaz. Who wins at 135?

The ref was the one who beat him that night.

Anyway, I'd take Pac on points. I don't think Ambers did any one thing exceptionally well enough to be favored over Pac.

Yeah, true. But 'the man who wasn't quite good enough to beat Armstrong but got the win due to a bias referee' is hardly a good title - although it's still better than 'the man who beat David Diaz'.

And I tend to agree; it's been a while since I watched Ambers for some reason I'm struggling to recall his best assets, but I remember his style and I don't think it's suited to beat Pac. Pacquiao gets a little undersold at LW. I know he only had one fight there, but I tend assume that he'd look exactly the same at 135 as he did at 130. An incredibly talented and skilled fighter.

Here's footage of him in what was considered one of his best career performance vs. Pedro Montanez. Montanez was actually favored to take away Ambers' crown I believe. Ambers was a good boxer who could also mix it up, but lacked big power.
