Traveled everywhere and has fought the likes of ATGs such as Napoles, Duran, Buchanan, Benitez, Laguna, etc. He's fought 200+ times and had 80+ losses and only stopped 3 times on cuts! Surely he must have had one hell of a chin to not be KO’d flat with that many fights! Was he the greatest journeyman of all-time?
If he dropped Laguna and drew with Hernandez, then yeah he is the greatest journeyman ever. Good stuff, Flo.
Solider Bartfield Johnny Risko Young Peter Jackson Willie Meehan These are the greatest journeymen IMO.
Not being stopped, other than on cuts, in all those fights doesn't have much to do with your chin, because your capacity to take a punch fades over time. If you learn how to fight and not get hit on the chin, that skill gets stronger.
On his record I noticed that he fought both Pat O'Connor and Rafael Rodriguez in Minneapolis. One of my closest friends was, I am certain, at both of those fights. He was very close to both O'Connor and Rodriguez- he fought Rafael several times as amateurs- and I know he will remember those fights. As soon as I talk to him I will share his recollections.
