Anyone remember Del Valle? Held the bantamweight title for a brief period in the early 90s. He destroyed Duke McKenzie in 1 to win the title, and among his defenses, he outpointed a WAY past his prime Miguel Lora (he would not have beaten a prime Lora). He was no great, but he was a big puncher. Watching him fight, he's almost like a very, very, very poor man's Trinidad.
The only Del Valle I ever knew was Lou and he is fat now I remember Duke McKenzie losing on a one punch KO to the solar pelxus, is that your man?
Duke Mckenzie was like a really really poor man's Jeff Chandler. Some of the rangy skills that Chandler had, but none of the chin and meanness.
There is something a bit Tito about the long, straight "faster than I look " punches, especially when he has a man against the ropes, or the hooks when he has already "Steadied" him with one shot and has time to wind up the finisher.- think Tito vs Campas {ropes} or Mahenge Zulu {center ring when he had softened him up} all the time moving around like a sort of a gimpy gazelle
Has that deadly left hook like Tito and similar footwork where he does kind of a 2-step around his opponent.
