Looks like we’ll be having Donaire vs Casimero first while Rigo agrees to take step aside money and fight the winner. Was really hoping to see how Casimero deals with Rigo first but this will do. Definitely a firecracking fight, 2 big punchers with different style and personality: the crafty counterpuncher with class against the tricky wild slugger with the big mouth. Great fight and probably the first major fight between 2 Filipinos.
As a Fil-Am this is a major breakthrough. Can’t wait to see how this goes.

Rigo's come out of this quite well, as I understand the situation. He's getting step aside money for this fight to happen, with the stipulation that the winner of this has to defend against Rigo. Rigo's a very bad matchup for both, and if Rigo backs himself - which he obviously does - then he's gonna get paid for preparing for the winner, and he's gonna get paid for beating the winner, then paid for fighting Inoue. Seems like a pretty good scenario for him, even if he doesn't get to the Inoue fight. He's still gonna have enough to head off into retirement.

If everything falls the way he's expecting, it's actually a very savvy business manoeuvre.

 

Nonito pulls out of the fight because the opponent refused VADA testing, which Donaire voluntarily participates through the year.

Seems like Nonito takes his anti-doping work seriously

I was wondering the same thing. It's unusual to have a fight set, venue, promotion for a fight only to have it scrapped. I know Rigo's style is not crowd-pleasing but damn it's kind of messed up

 

Hope the fight is in Vegas. Should put it on the Pacquiao vs Spence undercard.

 

Seems like the fight is off because Casimero (or someone from his team) told Donaire's wife to snack on his dick (after she hinted he was delaying the VADA paperwork because he was juicing). Boxing is becoming more and more pathetic

I don't know for a certainty.
An educated guess would be that he did maybe 2 with each of them and worked with other people as well.
I say that based on where these guys are at in their careers.

 

They did a livestream together arguing. Donaire feels disrespected and doesn't want to give them the pay day. I'm guessing the sanctioning body will do something to force the fight. It worked out nicely where both were available and Rigo stepped aside. Still time to make this fight.

I agree at least Casimero didn't grab Nonito's wife's ass as Mayorga did to Mosley's girlfriend. Mayorga was infamous for disrespecting fighter's wives anything to get under their skin. Smart move on his part being a brawler. Bad look for Nonito he should want this fight more after those comments.
