Pre-Floyd Manfredy was Actually a GOOD Fighter...People FORGET Ring Magazine Announced BEFORE Mayweather-Manfredy that the WINNER Would Be Named "Fighter of the Year" Right After... Manfredy was THAT Close to Prominence, Pound for Pound Lists, etc...But he NEVER Recovered After that Loss, Really... Cop Out Prediction, but Pre-Floyd Manfredy BEATS O'Grady...Post-Floyd Version LOSES... REED
Id say he started gping down after the corrales fight. He had a hell of a performance against robinson after the pbf fight, and had a decent one against lil but bad
Manfredy didn't "suck" against Johnston at all. He was sharp - just as sharp as he was when he battered Ivan Robinson - Stevie was just too good. As for this matchup, I would take O'Grady. Manfredy wasn't on the level of the O'Grady that beat Kenty.
ok. next time a fighter loses 10 out of 12 rounds, i'll fight the temptation to think it was a sucky performance. didn't mean to discredit johnston in any way. but at the same time, the idea that manfredy could not have improved on his performance by doing differe things....like letting his hands go more....just not true. not saying he ever would've done better. just saying, not a good performance. and it was sucky in the sense he made no adjustments and lost almost every round. in any case, would definitely not refer to it as a decent performance. it was one of johnston's easiest wins.
