Netflix resurrects the old cartoon with a twist. The trailer looks like it will please fans of the franchise, BUT the word is out that the main character will NOT be He-Man, but the female Teela. Can the PC wokeness leave at least some things like boy's cartoons alone??

I've been waiting for this. I think Kevin Smith knows what the true fans want. Great voice casting. Glad the original voice of Skeletor is involved as Moss Man.

I was going to post this trailer in the Netflix thread, it looks really interesting. As a kid when the He-Man action figures first came out I remember how fascinated I was with them in the look and the fictional environment they came from.

Later they came out with the cartoon and even though it was a happy go lucky ridiculously campy show that was a huge disappointment, I watched it anyway. This trailer looks like it represents a story more befitting the look of those action figures from so long ago and even though I rarely watch animation these days I’m really looking forward to this one. I pray it won’t be another disappointment.

How old were you when the cartoon came out? I was 4-5 years old and it is still some of the best stuff I've watched. Loved it.

I had castle gray skull and snake island. I too was a big fan as a kid. Some of the characters were just insane. Remember the snake guy who spit venom? Or the human battering ram character?

I believe I was in middle school at the time probably 6th or 7th grade. I always thought the show was okay. Watchable but I thought it should have been more serious and better action.

I actually don’t remember the snake guy but I remember a lot of the others like the battering ram character was Ram Man and they had the one guy Man-E-Faces who could change faces. My little brother had Beast Man and my friend up the street had pretty much every character. But this guy was always like that, his parents bought him almost every GI Joe character and every Star Wars character along with the vehicles and other accessories. They would also buy two sets because his little brother got his own separate toy too. I remember when one of the gaming systems first came out rather than share it like most kids his parents bought them separate units.

A few years ahead of me so I can see why it was a let down. I was younger so it was the first cartoon and toy line that I was into. I think WWF wrestlers would have been second.

Wow! I was under the impression this was a one off animated movie but it’s actually a series slated for 2 seasons so far.

Also I just found out the crappy 80’s series was remade in 2002 which is the prequel to this new show. So now I plan on downloading that 2002 series and watching that before I watch the new one. Hope it isn’t mediocre to the point where I quit all of it.

Kevin Smith is a whore. You cannot trust a guy who has been licking Kathleen Kennedy's pussy & Jar Jar Abrams cock on the last two Disney Star Wars without losing some credibility. He is as woke as those two jerks and this new Masters of the Universe will be the proof.

Prepare yourself to be disappointed if you are expecting He-Man to be the main character.

Every other movie you come with this gloom and doom tale about how another movie has been ruined by PC wokeness and the woman is now going to be the star. You did the same thing for the Mad Max movie and the angle they took didn’t ruin that film at all.

I tried watching that rebooted He-Man cartoon and it was actually way worse than the one from the 80’s so I don’t have much hope for this new one whatsoever. I’ll check it out but overall I’m kind of already out on the whole damn thing.

On the bright side the new Rick & Morty episodes have delivered.

I'll wait until I actually watch it before bashing it. I'll have no problem doing just that if it's woke. People are flipping out that Teela has short hair and assuming she's the main focal point, but people need to realize that He-Man really only shows up when shit happens.

On my defense for "Mad Max: Fury Road" it was Charlize Theron the actual star of that film. Everyone remembers Furiosa, but Max was like an after thought in his own film. So I was damn right about the female being the lead.

Well going off that 2nd trailer this looks way better than the first reboot of the series. I think they’ve taken a page from Anime where they’ve given it a more serious theme and the fight scenes look way way better. I’m kind of hopeful once again.

    Reviews are in...I WAS RIGHT!!

    Here an excerpt from IGN:

"Prince Adam and He-Man (voiced by Supergirl's Chris Wood) are important, but they really serve as backdrop. In a manner similar to how Max acts as a lesser lead to Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, Revelation draws upon the might and majesty of He-Man to facilitate others' arcs. Basically, this is Teela's show. In taking this approach, Revelation can act both as a stunning sequel and also a wondrous "What If?"-type spinoff for those viewers unwilling to accept some choices as pure canon."

This was FANTASTIC. BRILLIANT STORY. 10/10. No complaints. Get over Teela's haircut and appreciate the greatness of this project. Give me more ASAP.

Dude you're a prick. Always posting negative shit regarding this project. It dampered my hype and expectations beforehand. Glad I waited to make up my own mind on it. You should try it.

So, what I wrote that wasn't right? Is He-Man the main character here? Nope. Is Teela the main one? Yup. I posted that people expecting a faithful reboot will be disappointed and the current RottenTomatoes audience score of 26% rotten says a lot about fans being massively disappointed.

There is a valid reason why she's the focal point. I have no problem with it. This is not a reboot, this is a continuation. The storyline is great and people should give it a chance instead of comparing it to the original. I am an avid fan of the original but understand that style of episode would not work today. What they did works great and actually expanded the MOTU franchise and possibilities.

JK did you ever let the forum know you were doing a podcast because this is the first I ever heard of it? I just went and subscribed and will be checking you out. How are things going with it so far and congratulations.

Thanks man! Just started. I posted a link in the Corrales/Castillo thread. It has been going pretty well so far. Hard to judge feedback when few comment or message but the audience is slowly growing. Appreciate you checking it out for sure. I value time and don't want to waste yours.

Don’t worry about it. I only listen at work or when doing choirs around the house so no time wasted on my end. Plus if it’s not my cup of tea I’ll just unsubscribe. Best of luck to you and much success.

Right on man. Every episode will be different until I'm able to record daily. Then it will be sports at its core then whatever topic/interview I land.
