Netflix documentary about Christy Martin. I'm no fan of vagina boxing, but this doc is quite good. And George would be VERY PLEASED to know that the Christy mentions the name of one Marvin Johnson in this doc.
I don't mind female boxing. They often have to work a lot harder to win because they don't have that natural KO power. Takes a lot of commitment to train in that male-oriented atmosphere too, gotta earn their stripes generally - unless they're hot then they can just sell tickets regardless. Also as a bloke with daughters, I love showing them fierce female warriors who don't cop shit. They are amazed when they watch it. Boxing, Muay Thai, UFC, I always get them in front of the TV for them. I have little gloves and wraps on order for them, arriving soon.
Fair enough. Admittedly, it's very possible my perspective on women's boxing would change if I had daughters. I have a son, and though I give him boxing lessons (I have the mini gloves and wraps), I would never want him turning pro.
A notable part of the documentary: Martin's ex-husband spoke about the contract DK offered them when he signed her. The husband told King, "Alright, we'll just have a lawyer review this before signing." King replied, "This contract doesn't leave this room." LMAO! What a fuckin crook DK was/is.
