Either at 154 or 160. How does this exciting match up go? Could Martinez keep up with using his speed and reflexes to befuddle and outbox Jackson to the distance, and possibly stopping him? Or will Jackson eventually find his mark and KO Martinez while behind on the scorecards like against Graham?

Bouts such as these are very difficult to imagine.

If Martinez approached this bout in his usual hands down manner, it seems inevitable that he gets collected.

However, he never faced anyone with the combination of speed and power that Jackson had. For that reason I believe he would try to fight more carefully, perhaps try something entirely new as well. He never was in a position where he would have had to do that, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have.

Thus, Jackson is the favorite but this is extremely difficult to analyze

It's not a difficult pick at all to me. Martinez has very little chance. He was easy to hit, and his chin wasn't that good. It's really as simple as that. Martinez was very much LESS talented than Herol Graham.

Jackson knocks him cold at either weight.

I'd take Jackson about 8 times out of ten. He was simply better. Martinez wasn't some unheralded modern great, just an athletic fighter who was entertaining.

Jackson definitely takes him out at some point. Martinez was one of those guys who was athletically talented and fairly skilled but had a lot of weaknesses because he took up boxing late in life. He did well considering, but not enough to get through this one, as others have said he just wasn't good enough defensively to not get clocked at some stage.
