Who wins? Griffith, the ultimate jack of all trades, and arguably the physically strongest welterweight OAT. Duran, quicker and the more dynamic talent. Both superb infighters, both endless stamina, both great ring IQ. Who takes it?
Griffith would do one of two things; 1) get pissed off at Duran's homophobia, or 2) try to neutralise Duran on the inside. Both of which, imo, lead to Duran winning, but the latter would likely make it a horrendous watch while the former makes it a brilliant one. Ultimately, I'd take Duran in both scenarios.
Yeah, I tend to favor Duran too. I think it simply comes down to handspeed. He would consistently beat Griffith to the punch. That, and Duran's more defensively adept.
I think Duran wins because he was just more dynamic. Quicker hands and those cat-like reflexes that were just uncanny. Really good fight, though.
When one guy has that extra factor i guess at best can be described as 'dynamic' while many other factors are close that's usually who I take as well. Duran wins but Griffith does enough to warrant a rematch.
What are the odds that Duran calls Griffith a maricon at the press conference? It would be a shock if he didn't.
If that happened would you had provided fighbeat with an accurate exclusive English translation of all the slurs?
