Does he crack the top 10?
Would you rate him above the original Tyson?

He's hard to rate cause while he has a few top wins, the rest of his resume is pretty shallow

There is no way in Hell he's above Mike yet. I won't say he can't pass Mike, because he's not done yet, but he ain't there yet.

Let's be honest... picture what 88 Tyson would do to a 40-year-old Wald and that fuckin bum Wilder. Just picture it. He would have dusted both of them, and would have done it so easily that he'd be given no credit. Fury does it, and he's a God, apparently.

Mike's level of dominance from 86-89 has him comfortably over Fury as of now. There's no reasonable case for Fury being greater than Mike yet.

Pre-Douglas, Mike was considered P4P #1 over Chavez and Whitaker. Think about that.

Fury is barely ranked above Josh Taylor P4P.

Deontay Wilder CANNOT fight! He is trash, and he's Fury's defining win.

Razor Ruddock was more talented than Wilder. Imagine if Ruddock was Mike's defining win.

Holmes was younger than Wlad, and had more left in the tank. He beat Mercer, and gave a good account of himself against Holy 4-5 years after Mike destroyed him.

Wald did nothing post-Fury except get stopped by that stupid robot.

Points like this highlight why Fury is overrated.

If he dominates Usyk... ok... THEN we can start having this serious conversation. But right now he still isn't top 10. His resume is too weak.

I don't agree that holmes had more in the tank. There was a decline in wlad, but it wasn't as noticeable as it was in holmes, who looked pretty fat and old against Tyson. Him getting stopped by aj had more to do with his inherent weaknesses.as.a.fighter than age imo

But yeah, i think mike still rates higher than him

    Def top 15.

A dominant win over Usyk would do a lot.

Right now, I don't even have him over Bowe. He hasn't done anything that Bowe wouldn't have done.

Bowe wouldn't have needed a rematch with Wilder. Beyonce would have been dead the first time.

Probably where i would also have him. Hes definitely behind the ali, lewis, louis, marciano,.wlad (fuck me) and holmes level, but afteward, it get a bit muddier. Still, his resume is too thin at o crack the top 10 , but top 15 seems fair

If we're talking greatness, not necessarily H2H, but greatness, then I have Ali, Louis, and Lewis as my top 3.

    1. Ali
    2. Louis
    3. Lewis
    4. Foreman
    5. Holmes
    6. Holy
    7. Tyson
    8. Frazier
    9. Marciano
    10. Liston

That's my greatness list. I'd probably have Bowe at 11.

I would add that's my MODERN era greatness list. That should be stipulated. Joe Louis was essentially the first modern heavyweight.

The Dempsey's, Johnson's, and Langford's were primitive, and belong on their own list.

Foreman seems a.bit high, but he does have the destructions of an atg and a near atg.

Marciano is a though one to rank. While his resume looks great on paper, it lose a lot of his varnish when you look at it more closely

I've figured out where I have Fury. I'd call him 13 right now.

I have Bowe at 11, and Vitali at 12.

Bro, I don't know why you keep thinking Teddy Atlas invented that.

Old timers were saying stuff like "That bum can't fight a lick" before Atlas was born.

What's even more strange, Teddy doesn't even say that. The most I've ever heard him call a guy is overrated. At NO POINT have I heard Atlas say a guy can't fight.

Lou Duva would say something like that. He would call the opposing fighter a bum all the time.

Atlas is a bit more respectful. Never heard him refer to a guy as a bum.

    1:20 Mark...

Because Teddy Fucking SAID the Shit???:Dont:...

& As REED Stated in Another Thread, it's a LAME ASS Attempt @ Being a CUTE Boxing Elitist...If You Wanna Say Wilder's SKILLS SUCK Or He CAN'T BOX, Cool...But Considering the GLARING Lack of Skill and Boxing Acumen, The ONLY Thing the Motherfucker COULD Do in the Ring was FIGHT!!!...

    He's a PRIZE FIGHTER!!!...He FIGHTS for a Living!!!...45 FIGHTS!!!...42 WINS, 41 by KO!!!...Yes, HE CAN FIGHT!!!...Those That "CAN'T FIGHT" Don't Amass Records Like That Bruh!!!...

You're Trying to Be CUTE When You Say the Shit, Just Like Teddy Was When he IRRESPONSIBLY Said the Shit in Front of MAINSTREAM Boxing Fans in the Video REED Posted...

The Fact You Have to Reference Lou Duva and "Old Timers" CRYSTALLIZES REED's Point for Him...NO ONE Says Shit Like That Anymore, UNLESS.......

I don't listen to ESPN at all. I wouldn't know what the Hell Teddy says.

Deontay Wilder is a bum with a punch. I'm not going back on that, because it's true.

He's a horrible boxer, with a freakish right hand.

I listened to it. Teddy isn't wrong. The man is garbage. He can't fight. He sure as fuck can punch though.

Oh well, I'm not changing my position on that. No point in a back n forth.

Oh, and I don't care about Wilder's record. So what he has 40 something wins. So what?? Coming up, he fought some of the THE WORST opposition in heavyweight history. We're talking guys Butterbean would dust. An old Ortiz aside, the man's resume is laugh worthy.

Sean O'Grady was 73-1 when he fought Jim Watt. If you went by that record alone, you'd be thinking, "Wow! Sean O'Grady must be the greatest lightweight of all time."

Wasn't Campas like 44-0 or something like that when he fought Tito? It means nothing. Wilder's resume was a joke, save for Ortiz.

    Deontay... Wilder.... is TRASH!

On that list, I can see Fury beating Marciano simply due to the size and height. But while I can see him being competitive with most of them I cannot say I see him winning against any of these other guys.

Fury vs 92 Bowe would be a fight to see. I’d like to see how Fury handles himself in a fight like that.

I think 92 Bowe would beat the ever living shit outta Fury. Fury would fight like Hell, but he would cop a beating..

But Fury is on a pedestal right now, so I doubt many will agree with me.

Cmonnnn... honestly.. would a young, in-shape Bowe need a rematch with Wilder?

Operative word being in-shape, as Fury was coming back from a pretty bad condition in their first fight.

As for the question it is still too early but Fury is rising pretty fast. Right now I wouldn't place him in the top-10 but he'd be a handful for anyone. Everyone has struggled with a lesser fighter than Fury

Id pick fury over louis, marciano and liston on that list. Frazier is 50/50. Foreman should win, but i wouldn't be shocked if fury manage to take advantage of his shoddy stamina

Fury is hard to guage because Wilder sucks. It's hard to handicap how he would do against a Mike or a George because those guys were so many light years better than the Bama bum.

Wilder has put Fury on his back too many times for me to give him hope against 74 George.

George knew how to close the show. Few knew how to close the show better.

Wilder is a poor technical boxer but I'm not a fan of "he can't fight".

He would knock out Canelo in 30 seconds.

Punching power and resolve are valuable skill sets, why they aren't included when talking skill is strange to me.

To answer thread question no way top ten. Who has he beat? What if Wilder loses his next fight to say Whyte....in 3 rounds?? Who else did Fury really beat besides Wlad/Wilder.... Chisora? Needs a few more big wins under his belt IMO.

Louis, yeah, Joe is probably too small.

Although, adjusting for eras, Louis would probably weigh like 215-220 today. His frame could easily carry that. Joe Louis was a big man.

If a peak Louis could comfortably carry 218ish... he would annihilate Fury.

    But that's speculation.
