Nice fight, pretty short notice given it’s ‘stature’ with 2 top 5 lightweights facing off.

One guy is bigger physically and the other bigger mentally (clearly, I mean this based on interviews, how they appear etc, not because Ryan took leave a while back).

Jojo the slightly more skilled guy IMO but Garcia has notable reach/height advantages, maybe gas tank too although I think Diaz doesn’t get as much credit as he should in that department. If Luke Campbell dropped Garcia though… can’t see why Jojo couldn’t do the same, only with alot more aggressive followup.

 

Ryan is shaky. I don’t trust his chin nor his resolve.

 

Is Diaz a top five LW?

Jojo Diaz isn't exactly a fighter who instills fear in opponents. I dont think its that Ryan is afraid. Ryan just isn't committed to the sport. He wants to be a star for teeny boppers more than he wants dedicate himself to his craft.

I've literally seen more of Ryan Garcia on social media than live boxing. Luke Campbell fight. That's it. I don't think hanging around with the Paul Brothers and uploading clips hitting the cobra bag is a good sign.

Guy literally cried "I'm a star" when he beat Campbell.

That told me a lot about his mind. He's trying to fulfill an image instead of just going about his work.

You can't just keep pulling out of fights without questions being raised

 

I wouldn’t count out the possibility of Kingry getting spooked. Jojo isn’t built and he has a goofy sounding nickname… but what I’ve seen he is a tough Sob and throws combos with intent. Doesnt have crushing KO power but he comes forward and puts the hurt on. Not an easy fight in any way.

 

I still say it's more a dedication thing. Ry is going through mental issues, and he probably thinks that being an elite boxer is just too damn hard.

 

They may as well look to cash out Ryan Garcia RIGHT NOW… He’s clearly not reliable nor level headed. Doesn’t have the maturity to be a champion for the long haul.

I think he’s more focused on his celebrity status. Maybe Luke Campbell scared him but I think it’s more of a lack of commitment on his part.

May as well put him in there with one of the champions now and make some money off him while they can.

 

He turns on the TV and he sees Canelo collecting big pay days and making guys quit. He has Canelo show up to his gym and he feels great.

But a sport like boxing has acute peaks and massive elongated flat spots.

Most guys, every day, they're just making weight, trying not to get injured and sleeping or working out quietly.

I think he'd happily go thru a Campbell fight everytime but only if every other day could be Friday. He wants every night to be Oscars night.

Fucking guy looks like Sal Mineo, got a great name, Hollywood smile.... Just zero ethic. Easily distracted.

He just can't live the life of making weight, going to bed early and being unnoticed.

9 out of every 10 days in the life of a boxer are numbingly boring routine.

He wants everyday to be an Instagram day, a day where he's surrounded by Ngannou or the Paul Bros and he's online to 3Am "influencing" and he's waking up at 12pm and having 4 bowls of Cheerios.

Doesn't work that way and he's finding out.
