A Bit Weird, Yet Herring Didn't Complain...In Fact, He Seemed RELIEVED It was Over...

Quick stoppages are only controversial in close, competitive fights.

I never complain about quick stoppages in one sided blowouts.

ASSuming You're Also Referring to Devin Haney, Shakur's a Better, Harder Puncher than Haney...

No, Shakur Will NEVER Be Mistaken for Wilder, Tank or Inoue in the Power Department, and His KO % Will Likely Never Exceed 50%, But His Punches AFFECT His Opponents in a Way Dev's Don't...

From the Moment the Bout was Signed, Herring KNEW He Couldn't Win Off his Backfoot...Nonetheless, the Speed and Sting of Shakur's Shots KEPT Herring There...Shakur DETERS Guys, Makes them Leery, Makes Them Shell Up (Like Joet Gonzalez Did for 12 Rounds)...Dev RARELY Accomplishes That w/His Shots...

Linares Walked Dev Down All Fight Looooooong...

Shakur CUT Herring Last Night and In His Previous Fight vs. Nakathila, he Actually DROPPED Him 3x (Though the Ref Only Scored 1)...Linares BLEEDS and Gets DROPPED in Virtually Every Fight, Yet Haney Accomplished NEITHER of Those Feats When they Fought...

REED Gets What You're Saying and There ISN'T a Night and Day Difference btwn the 2, but Shakur's a Better, Harder Puncher than Dev Is...

    It's Arum...

Shakur is the LATEST Example of How Piss Poorly Arum Promotes Black Fighters...

As You've Alluded To, Shakur's Called Out Valdez Since He was the WBO Mandatory @ '26...Valdez Vacates, Shakur Picks Up the Title and Immediately Stated He Wanted to Go to the UK to Unify w/Carl Frampton...Instead, Herring Gets Frampton a Year or 2 Later, @ '30???:Dont:

Shakur Moves Up to '30, Calls Out Valdez and Herring from Jump and Only Now Has He Faced Herring...

Could You Imagine Bob Arum NOT Fast Tracking an Olympic Silver Medalist to High Profile Fights???...REED Couldn't Either, But That's Precisely the Case w/Shakur...

Called Out Valdez, Frampton and Herring for YEARS, Yet Got Served Toka Khan Klary, Felix Carabello and Jeremiah Nakathila Instead...REED's Convinced This is Why Shakur's Been EDGIER In Interviews, Pressers, etc...He's FRUSTRATED...

No Excuses Now Though...Shakur vs Valdez is THE Fight to Make @ '30...If it Doesn't Happen Next, Blame Bob...

Agreed. Shakur ain't no Edwin Rosario as a puncher, but he at least hits hard enough to put some sting on guys, and sometimes that's all a top technician needs.

Haney seems to struggle to even gain respect with his pillows, and that's concerning.

Yeah, Dev Truly CAN'T Punch a Lick...He's Teetering On a Malignaggi Level of Punching Prowess...

Shakur's @ Least an Andre Ward Level Puncher, Maybe a Notch Higher...

Stevenson hits way harder than Haney IMO. He'd absolutely destroy Gamboa.

Loma Ain't CHINNY, But REED Wouldn't Say He Has an EXCELLENT One Either...

Linares Dropped Him, Campbell Wobbled Him...Neither are BIG Bangers...

REED Also Doesn't Think Loma Took 'Fimo's BEST Shots Either...Loma was Leery AF of "Fimo's Power the 1st Half of Their Fight and When He Got Clipped in Round 12, Loma Went DEFENSIVE Again and Lost That Round...He was Acutely Aware of the Fact 'Fimo COULD Knock Him Out...

Again, NOT Chinny @ All, But Tank is VERY Live vs. Loma, in REED's Opinion, by KO...If Not 50-50, Loma-Tank is 55-45 @ BEST, in Loma's Favor...

Yeah, Gamboa Would've Found a Way OUT, Instead of Going a Full 12 w/Shakur...

Shakur Would've @ Least DROPPED and/or CUT Linares Also...

Shakur is more likable than Haney too. Shakur was kind of an arrogant prick when he turned pro, but I'm hoping he's turned the corner and become a bit more grounded now that he's 24 and entering his prime.

Haney just has a punchable face and isn't likable in the least bit.

    Bill Haney...

Bozy Ennis Gives Boots His SPACE, Allows Boots to Be a MAN, Yet Keeps His Son GROUNDED...Shakur's Grand Pops Gives Shakur His Space and Allows Shakur to Be His Own MAN...

Bill Haney is THIRSTY AF Though...Camera Hungry...Comes Across as Dev's FRIEND, Instead of a Person of INFLUENCE...That's WHY Dev is the Way he Is...

A lot of these cats are close with Zab, and see him as a mentor.

I hope Zab uses his platform to tell this young fighters, "Dont fuckin blow your talent like I did."

I watched the fight again. Shakur really is an excellent technical fighter. One of the best technically skilled fighters in the sport.

And he has his own style, unlike Haney whos a Floyd ripoff.

You think a guy as talented as Zab should have lost to Pedomir and gone life and death with an ancient Rafael Pineda?

Zab struggled with a shot Pineda damn near 15 years after his idol shut out a prime Pineda.

Baldomir was iron chinned and able to walk through Zabs best to land his own. Floyd said it best when he said Zab was a front runner. Zab was talented but some flashy guys like that look better than they actually are. Zab had talent but he fought cans until the Tszyu fight and got exposed there. He was low key fucking Tszyu up in round 1 I thought but the right hand from Tszyu had landed a couple of times before the KO right hand so I think Tszyu had his number. Zab was all reflexes for defense and relied on the left hand too much. He didn't really have a good jab that could control a fight or a great defense apart from very good reflexes.

What I took away from Stevenson vs Herring.....

It's hard to say. On the one hand I saw a lot of good things from Shakur. Good speed. He puts beautiful combinations together. He's fundamentally a very sound fighter. I was impressed with his quality. Having said that there was something odd about Herring. It was as if he was there for a payday. I'm not one to buy into conspiracy theories. But a couple of red flags. If I'm not mistaken aren't these guys stable mates under the same promoter? Seems odd this Herring guy was not punching back.

Nonono Sadly, Herring fought a lot like Charles "THE FUTURE" Hate-ly. Blinded by his own mittens and standing still. Great game plan for the first round. Round eleven comes and he was like 'Pop's is trippin' man'.

im sure the two have sparred plenty of times so herring knew he was outclassed going in, but it was his biggest paycheck at the time.

If getting outclassed in sparring spooks a guy, then I guess Haney fraud ass is never going near Shakur.

So Top Rank's plan is now for Stevenson to fight Berchelt, and Valdez to fight Navarette, and the winners face off.

So imo that means we'll see Stevenson vs Navarette in 2022.

yeah. saw this. definitely all fights to look forward to. stevenson needs to be careful though - herring can't punch but he landed plenty on stevenson. if berchelt can land, stevenson is going to need a chin.

No bad fights there, no matter how it breaks IMO. I'm happy with almost any outcome. Especially if it results in Navarrete being tested. Shame to see Conceicao getting froze out of a rematch, though. I'd also prefer to see Lara vs Navarrete rather than Nav move up.

Tbh, I preferred the idea of Stevenson vs Loma, but I've got no real complaints with this.
