Liverpool should really put Leicester to the sword later.

    Yeah. Should. Would. Could.

I just watched a Terry Venables documentary called "A man Can Dream".... I must reassess my earlier opinions of him, just a bit. He does seem to have been more driven rather than corrupt and probably existed in an era which simply didn't regard managers as having any right to be any more than just that, managers.

When you're up against mongs, you have to treat them accordingly. That does not involve missing penalties. That just emboldens them.

Now Jurgen can go back to his Einvaxgruppen and his role as intermediary epidemiologist for the greater Mersey region.

I reckon 35 will definitely be enough to survive. 32 might be.

To be fair, the richest club on England haven't had a transfer window yet. We've still got the shambolic dreck left by Bruce and the FCB.

We'll find out in the next few weeks just how serious the Saudis are at NUFC. As it stands, NUFC are doomed. That side will be relegated for certain. If they haven't already for four or five good players ready to be announced by the first week of the transfer window, we're dead.

Yep, could definitely see that. Could well work in Newcastle's favour. Especially with the expected January strengthening.

Man City are fucking annoying. They're at that stage of the season now where teams just roll over for them and they win 15 on the bounce or something stupid. The only way you can take the title off them is if you get off to a fast start, go a few points ahead, and hold on to it. Great front-runners, not so great chasers.

Was just about post the same, they are incredible front-runners, its a shame that its not closer at this stage of the year, we drastically need a Covid outbreak in the Man City camp

Everton's last three fixtures (including tomorrow's already postponed match.)

19 Dec 21 Everton v Leicester -postponed due to COVID cases at Leicester

26 Dec 21 Burnley v Everton -postponed due to COVID cases at Everton

30 Dec 21 Everton v Newcastle -postponed due to COVID cases at Newcastle ...and just like that we're on an unbeaten streak!

It was a six or seven team race last season at Christmas and Man City had it wrapped by the end of January.

I don't really fault them. I mean they play the same 38 fixtures. They win more than anyone else and that's the bottom line.

But one story I never heard any follow up on is that the club knew Mendy had been arrested and accused of rape early last season. They continued to play him until he was back in prison and unable to physically be there any more. He supposedly raped another 3-5 women after that first arrest.

I wonder if anything will come of that.

I watched him against Man U.

His talent is undeniable. He's young enough to still put it together and develop consistency - hopefully.

Question for I guess Hut, how would you rate Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos?

He good enough for the EPL or EFL?

Hut will be able to answer this better of course but for me I think Morelos would be a good Championship-level striker. He would also be a good fit for a bottom-half Premier League club like Brentford or Leeds where he can score you some goals and where his combative qualities would be a welcome addition when it becomes a scrap and you need to pick up points. He wouldn't get a sniff at any of the top 6 or so Premier League clubs who are looking to win trophies or make European places though.

The problem people have is that with their money they've been able to assemble two world class teams in one squad. It means they never really have to worry about exhaustion or injuries as they can just replace one elite player with another one. No other club has that luxury, which just makes it incredibly difficult to compete with them.

Didn't know that about Mendy, that's fucked.

Operation Turning Japanese, part two complete! This boy looks shithot - was J-League top scorer ahead of Kyogo but, marking him as a quintessential AngeBall signing, its his movement & counter pressing stats which stand out most. Two more J-league signings expected within next week or so, both centre mid which is an urgent requirement.

Only 1.7 million! Definitely feels like an untapped market, Japan. For the last 6 months we've had the guy who rivalled him at the top of the J-League scoring charts over the previous two seasons and hes been a revelation. It looks like there's some differences between them as players - kyogo better link up play, Maeda more explosive pace- but as commonalities they both seem like absolute standouts in terms of workrate and movement. The last two stand out strikers we had (Moussa Dembele & Odsonne Eduoard) were conspicuously lacking in those traits and i reckon they're still undervalued attributes in attacking players. The best teams now all defend from the front and attack from the back....there's an uncounted cost to having lazy sods up front even if theyre gifted enough to bang in 20+ goals. Man Utd are finding that since old Ronaldo came back.

Serie A's Lorenzo Insigne to join MLS's Toronto FC in the summer. TFC will be dramatically increasing his salary.

I believe he's gonna be making 3x his current salary, not even factoring in bonuses. I guess that, plus the opportunity to be a huge fish in a small pond was enough.
