What Are Some Specific Boxing CHANGES You Hope to See in 2022???... One That Sticks Out to REED is FEWER Twitter Beefs - There Should Be a CAP On the Amount of Times Fighters Can MILK the Name of Others and/or the Number of Shit Talk Messages They Can Exchange in a Calendar Year... Particularly When They Have ZERO Intentions of Facing Each Other Within That Calendar Year... Tank/Dev/KingRy Have Twitter Beefed for YEARS, to No Avail...Spence/Crawford Have Done Likewise for YEARS, to No Avail... Shit AIN'T Cute and Has Exhausted its Shelf Life... What are Some of Your New Years (Boxing) Resolutions???... REED
Definitely NOT a Banner Year for the Welterweight Division... Crawford-Porter was the Only BIG Welterweight Fight All Fucking Year...It Was Also the ONLY Time Either Man Fought in 2021...Spence Didn't Fight @ All in 2021...Pac-Ugas was Meaningful, But a CONSOLATION Prize Nonetheless... Aside from That, We Got Verg vs. Reese Hooker/Mean Machine...Boots vs. Lipinets/Dulorme...And Conor Benn Peeked His Head in the Door as a Potential PLAYER @ '47... For a Division Sooooooooo Historically RIFE w/Talent, 2021 was a DOWN Ass Year for Welterweights, Indeed... REED
I've given up on Crawford-Spence. It's not gonna happen, and I've accepted that. It does appear at this point that Crawford-Taylor is coming, possibly in the summer.
If Thurman beats Barrios and Spence beats Ugas, then seems likely we'll see Spence-Thurman. I was half thinking Tank vs Thurman might be in the works, but now it looks like Tank will fight Gary Russell next.
Top Rank Won't Feed Taylor to Crawford WITHOUT Another Loooooooong Term Commitment from Bud, 1st and Foremost... REED
I used to think Tank would be the type of fighter that would take on all comers and it was his cunt of a promoter that got in the way of Tank vs Haney, Tank vs Lopez and Tank vs Loma. But during the Cruz vs Tank post fight interview they asked him if he would let Cruz run it back and he said "hell nah". Why wouldn't you give the guy that gave you your hardest fight and arguably your first loss a rematch, to leave no doubt? Hope we get to see those super fights fights at 135 and 147 finally materialize.
Fewer THIRSTY Ass, Teofimo Sr. Type of Boxing Dads, More LOWKEY, Bozy Ennis Type of Boxing Dads... REED
I want this Joshua/Usyk/Fury/Wilder thing sorted. OK, fuck it, I want this Fury vs Dillian thing sorted I'll settle for that. I want to see Clenelo fighting a hard fight. No more gimmes vs Tommy the Time Travelling Tin Man.
Hopefully "Bridgerweight" is Accepted for the REDUNDANT Ass Division It Really Is, Deemed Unnecessary and DISAPPEARS... In 2022... REED
How about a Boxing league similar to the NBA or NFL? That would implement fair rules all the way across the board. None of the a side b side bullshit or catch weights. One champ for each weight class and the best fighting the best.
To be honest, bridgerweight, while not really neccesary imo, is far more needed than a lot of weight classes in the lower weights. Boxing should really get back to the original 8 (+ cruiser) divisions. One of the (if not the) main reason why we so rarely see meaningful fights
Boxing should one belt per division, nine division (112, 118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175, 190, HW) and there should be no more than twelve hours between the weigh in and the fight. Boxing wouldn't be immediately fixed, but it'd be on the right path. Essentially, if everyone who isn't the lineal champion became a contender, and was forced to fight one another for a title shot, then you're looking at a far more competitive division because back in the day, the ONLY way of making big bucks, was becoming champion, and even then it wasn't guaranteed. Imagine the welterweight division, but there's no day before weigh ins so ALL of the top fighters are now middleweights. There's no JWW division, so all of the fighters at 140 (who regularly also dehydrate more than 10lbs) have to either drain down to 147, or fight at 160 with the rest of them. You'd have a very, very stacked division and none of them would be able to afford to duck eachother because without it, they're not making as much money and they're not getting a title shot. This basic idea of fight the best, fight them often, and you'll be rewarded is what boxing thrived on for the entirety of its golden age.
It is sorted. Fury is the best of the lot. Usyk can outbox a stiff like Joshua but against Fury it'll look like Wladimir Klitschko vs Chris Byrd 3.
We were told that Wallin was chumped off to make room for the Fury fight. We got neither. Now a guy with 2 losses and no titles thinks he deserves 45% vs Fury.. In the meantime, Fury is fat.
Tyson Fury is always fat. He's gonna get slapped up by Usyk like Joshua was then people back track and downplay the win for no reason.
I think he'll get sparked. He's able to have this as easy or as hard as he wants. I think he's reading his own press clippings
