How does the current undisputed fighter of 154 (Jermell) do against a prime Terrible Terry Norris? Terry Norris had the speed, power, offense, and aggression that made him a formidable fighter but his chin was vulnerable and fragile. Charlo has shown to be an underrated technician and also a good puncher that can end a fight. I think this would be a really good fight. Norris was obviously the more talented fighter but he can be hit with a good one that could turn his lights out, which Charlo is capable of doing. However, I think a sharp, focused and more controlled Norris can beat Charlo easily using his superior speed and boxing skills so long as he doesn't get clocked or overly reckless.
I'd give Norris a chance at an early to mid-round stoppage, but beyond that, I'd expect Norris to get hit by a counter that marks the beginning of the end. My pick would be Charlo.
If Norris fights the same way he did the Brown rematch, he schools Charlo, IMO. Now, if he fights dumb then I can see him getting clipped mid to late rounds and that would be that.
Getting stopped by Julian Jackson doesn't, in my opinion, define you as having an unreliable ability to take a punch. Nor does being stopped by Simon Brown 20 some fights later. His biggest problem with Charlo would be size- Charlo talks about moving to middleweight and Norris offered to fight at 147 to get a good pay day.
You'd expect Norris to outclass him based on the huge difference in talent; but Norris could blow a fight better than most and Charlo can crack.
I think Terry would beat the crap outta Charlo. A totally and completely average fighter like Harrison came damn close to outboxing him TWICE.
Norris did lose to a below average fighter like Luis Santana TWICE. In all seriousness the only way for Norris to really lose this fight against Charlo is if he beats himself by getting overly excited and temperamental to the point where it can go 2 ways: He gets himself DQ’d, or he gets KO’d by leaving himself open while being overly aggressive. Charlo can be quite the puncher when he sits down on his punches.
Yeah Norris was his own worst enemy in there. He often just got in his own way and it cost him. I still think he’s in a different class than Charlo. But while I say he wins, he’d have me on the edge of my seat till it was over.
He did get hurt and floored by mediocre Waters though. Im a big Norris fan, but his chin was a huge liability
