Both guys are top 1 and 2# p4p guys in no particular order. I think their promoters realize that if either one of them fought Boots or Ortiz it could potentially jeopardize a mega $$$ fight between the two. It's the perfect time to make it.

You can be optimistic about it happening this year. Based on everything that's been leaked in the media, the fight is basically done (as the thread title states).

The only things that are probably being worked out at this point are the date and venue - in other words, minor shit.

Seems everything important is agreed on. Of course, I'm not 100% on that, but that's the feeling I get.

If I had to predict, I think it's gonna get a November date, and the location is obviously gonna be Vegas.

Bud probably bent and conceded to Spence getting the higher purse. I feel Craw is confident in beating Spence, and is just tired of people yapping about it. IMO he's agreed to let EJ have the edge on the split.

Spence also probably came to reason, and didn't demand tooooooo high a split.

I believe Brook said Crawford was the best he's ever faced.

And to Your Point, It Wouldn’t Surprise REED at All if they agREED On Keeping the Purse Split OUT of the Media…

REED Was There When Spence/Crawford Had Their Face to Face in OKC During the ‘Reese Hooker Fight. They’re COOLER Than Most Realize, Even Have Each Other’s Cell Phone Numbers….

They Literally TALKED On the Phone Prior to the OKC Face to Face….

Yeah, there's no legit beef between Spence and Bud.

More like a Magic and Bird dynamic where they're rivals and both wanna beat the other, but deep down they respect eachother.

Spence and Bud will probably end up like Leonard and Hearns. Ray and Tommy love eachother like brothers. That could be Spence and Crawford in 30 years.

In the end, its happening at the right time. Both are at the peak of their mainstream popularity, and both are coming off arguably their best performances. This is gonna be huge.

I’ll probably look to go to a friend’s house for the Canelo-Golovkin fight. I ain’t throwing anymore money at Canelo unless he gets in the ring with Benavidez.

This is a fight id like to go to. But it's a fight where haymon is gonna overinflate a small amount of shitty tickets that fans can purchase. Best to try to get the cheapest get in seat when they go on sale or wait and try for 1

You can tell they like each other. If it wasn’t for the fact that they’re two of the best fighters in the world, they’d be like high school homeboys clowning all the time and trying to beat each other on the basketball court, etc.

People forget these two are a couple of world class athletes at the highest level not a couple of gang members fighting over turf. Of course they respect each other. At the end of the day it's a sport. No different than if two top rival basketball players ran into each other on the street.

This is going to be big. In the past a 32 year old v a 34 year old would look like two fighters well past their best but I don’t get that sense with these two. Yes, they might have been better 2-3 years ago but given COVID, I can make allowances for this one stalling a bit. Plus, the anticipation is probably as high as it’s ever been because the fight never seemed that close before. If it goes ahead (and it’s looking increasingly likely) it’ll be a great matchup. And I hope the fight matches the anticipation.

Boxing is really becoming fuckin trash. If this fight doesn't come off, it's just really disheartening. Zero interest in watching Spence destroy a shot Thurman.

It's why I've been gravitating more to following futbol in the last year than this sad ass sport where the best fighters never fight each other anymore.

So annoying...neither one is worth the money they are getting paid...nevermind the money they want to fight each other. I hope they both lose their next match...

I’m not buying the reports. I still think this fight is done behind the scenes and they’re just keeping everyone in suspense.

Spence is 32 and Crawford 34, neither was ever in a superfight yet they still think the fight needs to ''marinate''. This fight has to happen by the end of the year/early next year at the most or it won't be better than a Floyd-Pac if it ever happens.

If lets say Spence vs Crawford couldnt be made but one of them took on Boots on their very next fight would that be on the same level of Trinidad vs Vargas. A boxing superstar taking on a rising star but a little on the green side. Or is Boots ready and up for the challange???

How do you all see either fight unfolding?

Boots vs Spence or Crawford on the very next fight.

I think Boots is as ready as he can be. Boots to me LOOKS better than Vargas but Vargas was a champion and had fought higher level of opposition.

If Spence-Crawford isn’t made and one of them fights Boots it would be great but Spence-Crawford is a legacy fight that if it doesn’t happen, would hurt both guys legacies.

Showtime's Stephen Espinoza on Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford talks: "I don't think it's dead or close to dead. We're a little bit stuck, but I don't think anyone's ready to throw in the towel. Discussions are still ongoing. I am still optimistic." [@FightHype]
