Does the weight matter here? Or does Hopkins win easily at each weight?

Peak Hopkins would stop Canelo at 160. I truly believe that.

But no, the weight doesn't change the winner.

Hopkins was just a MUCH MUCH MUCH better fighter than Canelo.

If you were to give Canelo the benefit of every doubt and say that it would be close after 7, you would have to agree that it would suck to be Canelo rounds 8-12. The only reason that it might go 12 is if the fight happened after the point in time when Bernard swore an oath to never throw more than 100 punches per fight.

Canelo loses a decision if it's the Hopkins that fought Howard Eastman.

He gets stopped if it's the Hopkins who fought Glenn Johnson.

Yeah the Glenn Johnson fight was peak Hopkins. I can’t see Canelo doing much other than taking a bad beating and getting stopped.

I don't even think Canelo can make it competitive enough to make a case for a robbery decision. I think he's good enough to maybe snatch an early round or two, but when Hopkins finds his groove he will run away with it. Canelo is a good fighter but despite Hopkins just being plain better it's a horrible fight for Alvarez stylistically too. He just isn't active enough.

He'd out-box the Hopkins that fought Kovalev
