Assuming Loma fights one of those guys next year, I think he'll lose.

I think both Shakur and Haney are too young, too big, and too sharp right now for an older Loma. Especially too big.

Loma could be shot by the time he fights either of those two, which means beating him wouldn't mean anything at all

Will have to see how he looks in his next upcoming fight. Stylistically I think Loma has the advantage due to him knowing how to deal with slick, fast pure-boxer types but he also had the speed and reflexes to help him with that. He is already 34 and will be 35 by the time he faces either of them. Age will play a factor if he were to lose against Haney or Stevenson. It'll be very impressive if Loma manages to beat either one or both at his age.

I think Loma would whitewash Haney.

I'd take him over Stevenson too.

Loma hasn't white washed a fighter as good as Haney a day in his life.

Loma can beat Haney but not Shakur IMO.

Haney and Shakur are both two good young fighters but I m not yet convinced they're special. I still have concerns about their lack of firepower and would have Loma a slight favorite over both, though he's getting up in age...

I can agree with this thread. I would make Haney and Shakur favorites over Loma. But as Azazel pointed out...their lack of fire power could make them vulnerable as they step up in competition and weight.

Shakur more so than Haney as he seems like the less tested of the two. Can they beat Loma? Very likely. Are they truly special fighters? Remains to be seen. I will add that I rank Haney higher than Shakur. He has been impressive lately vs higher caliber opponents.

Loma should have a quick 2-3 tune ups(6-8) months...to get the juices free-flowing..

I know...wishful thinking...but playing patriotic games in the Ukraine...he will need a few quick tune ups...

Truth is none of the these fights are going to happen anything soon...

    Gary Russell Jr. > Haney

Haney's best win is someone who you frequently describe as a bum.

He's done absolutely nothing to be favoured over Loma.

Haney presents problems for lomachenko. For any 135 or 140 guy really. I'd favor lomachenko if he is sharp and close to what he was when we last seen him but it would be a close, strategic fight

Lol. Gary Russell is a sham. Haney's better.

Moreover, that was 8-9 fuckin years ago, against a much smaller man.

Rather strange considering how he was on such a fast track at the beginning of his career, but Loma career has turned into a bit of a disappointment

Russell Jr was more talented than haney. But smaller and despite lomachenko being extremely inexperienced as a professional he was at his physical peak and more active

You don't need to go that far back and compare resumes. Just compare how they did vs common opponents.

Lomachenko lost to Teo(very clearly beaten)

    Teofimo got washed by Bumbozo.

    Haney beats Bumbozo x2

Add to that Haney is younger(23) and bigger. I have no doubt Haney beats Loma's overrated ass.

Haney has twice beaten the fuck outta Teo's daddy.

Teo has proving to do. He has physical talent and power that Haney doesn't have, but I wouldn't be surprised if Haney simply has more substance.

And Loma failed to "whitewash" both Linares and Campbell at 135. A much younger, and more active Loma.

Thinking he'll blow out Haney is wishful thinking, and not consistent with Loma's history at 135.

This is another aspect of modern fight game I don't like.

We blame fighters for hand-picking and protecting the 0.

Yet, if a fighter goes up to a division where he is obviously too small (Loma or Canelo) just to challenge himself, and gets beaten by a talented fighter there, he becomes an overrated princess

In fairness, I always called Loma overrated.

At 130, his fanbase was saying that Loma beats Floyd, Chavez, and Arguello.

I don't think Loma is as good as prime Camacho, much less the above 3.

    It's not about weight.

Do I think Loma is a HOFmer? Yes.

Do I think he should be remembered as a great? Borderline, but probably yeah.

Is he this generational Leonard, Jones, Mayweather, Whitaker level fighter? Fuccckkkkkk no! He's miles off.

I'll be fair to Loma and say that he might have had his defining win over Davis, but you can't fault him for that one not happening. He wanted Tank. TR wanted the Tank fight. Even Floyd wanted Loma-Tank. Tank is just a pussy.

Just because he flopped against Kambosos doesn't mean he wouldn't KO Haney. Haney has no power, average defence and doesn't even have a speed advantage over Teo. What happens when Teo lands? And he will; Haney goes to sleep.

Loma won at least ten rounds against Campbell and scored a knockdown. That's a whitewash. And Haney himself did worse against Linares than Loma did.

Well hopefully it happens in 2023 so you can eat your words. I'm confident you will.

I'm not even saying a Loma victory isn't possible, but he's not dominating Haney at all.

Haney is too big and rangy, and at this point in their careers he's just quicker and sharper than Loma.

If Loma wins, it's gonna require adjustments.

Shakur is a different animal. I think Shakur will beat Loma up. Shakur has a meanness about him that I think Loma lacks. I think Loma lacks some dog in him.

Gary Russell had fast hands, and power. I think people get a bit too enamored by it. He was talented, don't get me wrong, but it's not like he was a SUPER southpaw talent like say a Michael Nunn. I think Russell's ability has always been extremely overrated.

Haney in my mind is a better technician than Russell was.

P.S. to be fair to Russell, Leo Santa Cruz's pussy ass wanted no parts of him.
