I think Patterson wins a majority against a Spinks coming up in weight. His style and speed would give Spinks problems. He was also a good infighter. His physical strength might give Spinks problems inside.

The Spinks Jinx is definitely capable of dropping and hurting Patterson. Floyd got a bit sloppy on the attack and would leave openings for Spinks. I just don't know if he could ice Patterson like Johansson and Liston were able to do. Even a badly hurt Patterson kept trying to get up and fight.

Went into a rabbithole and watched a few Patterson fights recently. His body attack and leaping left hook were potent. He used his jab to blind opponents and then hooked off it very effectively. He also had underrated power in the right hand. The losses against Liston have made a lot of folks discount him as fighter.
