Obviously there’s other fighters far more deserving and this is really just a popularity contest at this point. Still, not a bad class of fighters IMO. All 3 have give memorable fights for the fans. Boxing News: IBHOF to induct Bradley, Froch, Marquez » December 7, 2022
On a serious note, nome of the 3 are bad choices, per say. There's just a lot of guys even more deserving who are still waiting.
His acceptance speech starts with: "I was born 70,000 years ago. Joking, that's obviously the number of fans I packed into Wembley when I smashed George Groves."
Froch deserves some recognition apart from being an arrogant twat, he had a stellar career considering his obvious limitations. Hall of Famer? Not for me, but there have been worse fighters who made it through, so within those parameters he should make it.
I'm only going to correct you because Carl himself isn't around to do it (and he definitely would), but it was actually 80,000
Funny thing about Froch's insistence on us remembering that 80,000 turned up for his fight is that Joshua broke the record straight after when he packed 90,000 in for the Klitschko fight.
Maybe the boxing HOF needs to be done every five years or something. It's not like the subject of those deserving or not is a new topic, but if the trend continues it will be renamed the "Hall of Above Average" and later the "Hall of That Name Sounds Familiar".
Well to be honest, who cares really. It makes the fighters happy, and its just a reason to throw a party and have a bit of recognition
"Tim was really ass. Facts." - Stank Davis. Well, while Tim wasn't Ray Leonard, one thing is for damn sure... Tim would have beaten the fuck outta Tank's fraud ass. Hate this lil fat fucker.
Frock deserves his spot imo. He had an unbelievable run of top level fights and wins. He's just an absolute bellsniff. MTF
Froch will probably be tiling a tenant's kitchen in a one bedroom rental in Nottingham while the induction is taking place, the boring cunt.
Ha. I do sort of admire what he achieved in terms of punching above his talent level. Basically just toughness, awkwardness, a good punch and great mental determination triumphing over very limited talent and technical ability. And being willing to actually fight every fucker around when you have the likes of Crawford now, a superior talent and technician basically stealing a living to James Cordenesque levels. Froch just kills me when he opens his mouth. It should bother me a lot less than Carlos Monzon chucking his wife off a balcony to her death, but I'm a cunt, so it doesn't.
Yup. It amazes me how he did what he did. We used to call him 'The Farmer' here, because he was so agricultural. Every single poster to a man picked Taylor to light him up. It was remarkable that he won, but it was probably a fluke, so we picked against him, over and over and over, and yet he won so many more than he lost, constantly fighting elite level comp. He won me over in the end. Intangibles. He had them. But only as a fighter. As a bloke, he's an absolute tool. MTF
I think i was the only believer in froch in here for a long time. Probably helped me that the first time i saw him was against Pascal
