Almost forgot this fight is supposed to take place in Japan tomorrow. This is probably the dullest undisputed matchup to take place since Terence Crawford vs Julius Indongo. Butler ain't gonna last more than 4 rounds me thinks.
As I said in the other thread A > B > C doesn't always work in boxing, but considering that Butler lost 12-0 to Rodriguez and went down twice in the first round, and that Inoue blasted the same Rodriguez out under four minutes, chances are that this won't be a memorable classic
I’m not sure I’ll even get to see this one. Some off the wall new tv network got the rights here in Japan so it won’t be on the normal sports channel. There’s no PPV and it’s been a bitch for the missus trying to set this new channel up. After a few failed attempts I told her not to worry about it. I’ll either catch it on illegal download or miss it. Besides, like others have mentioned, it isn’t like this is expected to be a barnburner.
What do you mean TV? Just go to the venue, show your military credentials and demand not only to get in, but VIP treatment.
I haven't seen it but I said this in the other thread: It sounds like this is exactly what happened, and it's why I refuse to watch any Gallagher trained fighter against an elite boxer. It's the same shit EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TIME. Absolutely infuriating to watch.
I was expecting Inoue to khtfko him like this https://mobile.twitter.com/JohnBranniganUK/status/1601591287299219457
As predictable of a fight as you can get. It was basically just a one sided sparring session. Butler literally had nothing to offer. But hey.. at least Inoue fulfilled his goal of becoming undisputed and we can finally see him move up for better challenges.
I get tired of hearing how small Inoue is and how he started his career at 108. Manny Pacquiao started his career at about that,…and fought all the way up to 154. Wilfredo Gomez was only 1/2” taller than Inoue and the Monster had a 1” reach advantage. Gomez fought and won at 130.
Indeed. That's something you'd expect from some palooka off the street, not a professional fighter. If most of Inoue's previous KO victims went in with the only idea being that of maintaining verticality for as long as possible i'm sure they would have gone more rounds too.
