I never thought Plant was doing as well as Showtime made it seem. Benavidez 9-3 was about right.

I'll give Canelo credit - he did handle Plant in more dominant fashion than Bena did.

As for who wins Canelo-Benavidez - I'm not sure how to call it right now. Canelo's the more skilled operator, but my gut tells me that Benavidez will show the fire of a young guy who wants to take what the old guy has had for years.

Undecided on Canelo-Benavidez ATM. Let's see how Canelo looks against Ryder.

Didn't see the fight but seems it went pretty much as I expected. Benavidez is one of boxing brightest talent imo and only getting better, and while Plant is decent, he s simply not at the elite level

 

I think Benavidez beats Canelo. A year or two ago, I’d go with Canelo. But his best days are behind him. He looked slow and sloppy agaisnt an old GGG, I think.

 

Not a robbery at all. Close fight. Stupid fucking commentators repeatedly screaming robbery was utterly ridiculous. It was a close fight.. they kept saying throughout they didn’t know who was winning alot of the rounds.. even going into final rounds they were saying the fight was up for grabs. Rayo clearly didn’t ’grab’ it.. then we get the decision and suddenly it’s a blatant robbery despite the judges all agreeing on a razor close verdict. Give me a break. That’s the type of crap that ruins boxing, that stupid overreaction bullshit from biased commentary.

 

No, it was very much a robbery. Colbert had his moments, but Rayo controlled the tenor of the fight, badly dropped Colbert, and badly hurt him several times. Rayo got fucked.

 

Benavidez making Arizona proud, good win and performance. Plant showed toughness but couldn’t handle Benavidez’ onslaught but props to him for lasting the distance. Good night of boxing overall.

Canelo vs Benavidez should be the next big fight this year, what a war that’s gonna be.
