The Haney's Post-Loma Move Will Be Interesting for Sure, ASSuming Dev is Victorious...

For Now, REED's Most Interested in Whether Bill's THIRSTY Ass Will Be the SOLE Voice in Dev's Corner or if he'll Have an ACTUAL Trainer There w/Him...Sure, Loma's OLD & SMALL But He's Still SKILLFUL, ATHLETIC & SOUTHPAW Enough to Make a LESS Than Qualified Chief 2nd STRUGGLE w/Mid-Fight Adjustments for His Charge, if Needed...

Dev COULD Lose the Loma Fight Anyways, But if He's Put in a Position Where Loma is CONFUSING or FRUSTRATING Him (Which is What a PRIME Loma Did to Most) & He's SEEKING Astute Advice from Bill, He's FUCKED...Same for 'Fimo, Except He Will DEFINITELY LOSE to Josh Taylor if 'Fimo Sr. is Still the PRIMARY Voice in Camp/the Corner...

Literally, a Fighter Could Start a Thread on Fightbeat btwn Rounds and Get BETTER X's & O's Boxing Advice Than Bill Haney or Teofimo Sr will EVER Provide Them...No Shade On Them as FATHERS, They Just AIN'T Trainers...REED AIN'T a Trainer Either, But Nor Does REED PRETEND to Be...

Dev's Definitely BETTER Than Tank & Ryan...The Beauty of So-Called ELITE Guys Facing Each Other is it Makes it EASIER to Handicap Other Matchups...Tank Has a PUNCHER's Chance vs. Dev, But That's All...& Somehow, Ryan Beat Devin 2-3 Times in the Ammy's, But Those Days are Clearly OVER...If Tank Can NEUTRALIZE Your Best Weapon, Dev Definitely Can...

But Yes, REED Was Talking from a Mainstream Perspective - Dev's Trying to "Floyd" His Way into the Mainstream, Stylistically, But Even Floyd OCCASSIONALLY Knocked MuhFugga's Out...It Wasn't Until '47 That Floyd's Fights Became Sort of MEH...Dev's Fights are ALREADY There, Because There's NO Threat of Him KO'ing His Opponent...

When You Can't Even DROP Gamboa???...

Haney and Stevenson are both big, fast and competitively sound defensive lightweights.

Both these guys kinda mirror one another.

I got Tank against either one

If you can't see that Stevenson is considerably more talented than Haney, I dunno what to tell you.

I’ve been watching boxing for 50 years.
Tank’s uppercut ending of Santa Cruz is the best I’ve ever seen

    did I say that?

Tank beats them both,..even though he is considerably smaller than both.

Davis has a puncher's chance against anyone at 135-140, but Shakur and Haney aren't gonna walk into the shit those idiots Ryan and Rolly walked into.

Don't forget Jack Mosley. He lost his shit after Forrest knocked Shane down. Guys like that are trainers because of their sons more than the sons are fighters because of their fathers. At some point they needed to pair with a real trainer.

That being said, that's one of the major differences between Tank and Ryan. Ryan operated like a guy who'd won championships and wanted to branch out and start his own gym, be his own boss. Canelo and Reynoso saw this coming. Goossen was a hired hand, didn't teach Ryan anything.

I'd give Tank a better shot against Haney than Shakur. Haney can get careless on defense. Shakur not so much. He's more sound and has more tools than Devin. Devin's going to hug you to get out of trouble. Shakur will stand in the pocket and make you miss.

I knew as SOON as I saw Goosen in the Garcia ringwalk that Ryan hadn't a prayer. Goose's face looked pessimistic as Hell.

Oh, absolutely. Tank has a much better chance against Haney than Stevenson.

Adding to what you said: Haney might not have the pop to gain Tank's respect.

    Stevenson can hurt Tank.

One of my boys, who watches more boxing than a casual, but still isn't overly knowledgeable, told me that with the right trainer Ryan could be every bit as good as DLH. After laughing at him, I calmly explained that Ryan simply doesn't have a fraction of Oscar's talent, and no trainer on Earth could change that.

Garcia is as much a hype job as Gerry Cooney was and when he needed to prove the hype was deserved, he folded like a chair like Cooney (but also like Cooney he became a millionaire just based on that hype without winning a world title).

Don't insult Cooney like that. Cooney gave a good account of himself in the Holmes fight. He was simply outclassed by a great fighter.

    Ryan folded like a chair.

The most Ryan could hope to be is Amir Khan like in being an over achiever with good match making. But he probably needs to change trainers for that.

I just think Khan was a lot more talented than Ryan. For example, Khan had way more footspeed. Also, Khan's handspeed was more free flowing. Ryan has fast hands, but he doesn't pull the trigger nearly as quick as Khan did.

I compared Ryan and Khan skillset...but Khan footwork as clumsy as it was is 100x better and faster than Ryan. Tank took away Ryan Jab/left hook and it was wrap...Ryan didn't have the footwork to even catch Tank with the check left hook, the few opportunities than Tank gave him. Never mind moving to Tank right to land the left to the body..

Biggest difference is heart.....Ryan had none...pussy.

Tank fought an AMAZING fight vs Garcia. Simply incredible, crushing victory. His power, his skills, and the way he manages to execute with such precision against consistently much larger opponents, is truly special.

How on earth can you walk away from this match acting like it has somehow detracted from Tanks rating.. he is a serious threat to anyone at 135 (you think Davis would’ve let Haney see the end of a fight where he is staggering around the last 3 rounds!?). However I think much above LW he simply gives up too much size against the elites- he’s already one of the smallest framed ranked fighters at 130-135.

I don't like Tank, but Jim was just being an overly woke dickhead. The comment was harmless.

Boxers have been metaphorically comparing their fists to guns for decades upon decades.

Tank has nothing to do with this nation's systemic gun problem.

Bleeding heart Grey should have just shut the fuck up and let the comment ride. No one was offended but him.

    Holy shit!

Apparently the fight did about 1.2 million buys!

Far eclipsing even my 700k prediction.

It's gonna be awhile before a fight in boxing beats that number.

Only way I can see it happening is if Canelo somehow beats Bivol in September, then fights Bena next May. But those are two unlikely IFs.

Other than Canelo-Benavidez, I can't see any other fight breaking a mil in PPV buys.
