Taylor vs Teo: Final Predictions

I don't see how Josh would reverse the outcome versus Teo at any weight. He was just outclassed.

I dunno who Taylor faces at 147. What guys do TR even have at welterweight?

Only thing that makes sense for Josh now is a Catt rematch at 147.

To be fair, Josh could have smashed Teo in 5, and I'd still give him no chance against Crawford, Spence, Boots, and Ortiz. Tonight just confirmed that wouldn't even be competitive with any of them.

 

Oh BTW, fuck Haney! I don't wanna see his boring ass versus anyone.

I wanna see Teo vs Regis, or Teo vs Tank. Both unrealistic, but those are the matchups I want.

 

Teo should be ashamed if he loses to him again.

I reckon he'll come 'out of retirement' once everything is sorted with his Kid and his BM.

 

The rest of Teo's career is gonna be unpredictable. He's always gonna be the type who may lose to a journeyman, or may blitz the division's best fighter. We'll never know what to expect.

 

I wish Teo well in trying to get custody of his kid. I can tell you first hand, it's very draining. He's right to put boxing 2nd until he gets his kid back.

 

Taylor tried to get inside. He ran into two problems: Teo is just much faster on his feet than a Regis or Ramirez and thus harder to pin down; and Teo was physically stronger than Josh expected.

Teo would kill that face-first scrub.

 

I can't either but simply because they're too good, not too big...

 

Lopez moved up to the weight satisfactorily, at least. At best, he was happier there than not just Taylor was, but than he himself had been at 135. Once that happened, as I surmised, he'd basically got the platform for victory.

 

I’d like to see Teo vs Haney. Great way to ‘welcome’ Haney to the division.

Tank will never take the fight. I'd favor Teo if he stays focused like he did last night, but Tank is just a lot more explosive and quicker on the trigger than Josh. I wouldn't count him out.

 

I know what you mean. Felt like Josh took ‘one too many’ fights at the weight where he was killing himself to get there. Whereas Fimo was so comfortable being a weight to support his muscular frame at last.

Last while has shown promise for fighters being ‘at their natural weight’. Weight cheats like Haney, R Garcia, Taylor getting shown the business by smaller guys who step naturally into the divisions, and even the monstrous ‘junior middleweight’ Mungia paying the price (but learning the lessons) in fighting a lot closer to his frame. Good for the sport seeing skill beat out size with some consistency

I'm not buying the Taylor excuses. He looked like the same ole Josh early on. Fimo just counters much sharper than anyone Josh faced before.

I hate Tank, you know I do, but Tank would lay Josh out.

Josh on the best day of his life took plenty of punishment from Regis. Tank's power is just a lot more explosive than Regis' power.

How would he beat Tank taking as many punches as he does? And it's not like Davis wouldn't land.

Davis is undisputed the biggest puncher from 130-140.

Moreover, as fucking DUMB as he is outside of boxing, IN THE RING Davis has a higher IQ than Josh.

 

Josh has no head movement. I don’t know if Tank would KO him flat out but he’d land a lot of flush shots. If Taylor could fight off the back foot, behind his jab, and land counters, I’d give him a chance.

I just feel Josh has taken too many shots. He’s on the downside of his career.

 

Now that Lopez has retired, Taylor is still the top 140 guy

 

Lopez has a good shot against Tank and Haney. This whole thing about Lopez retiring is just all talk, just like Tyson Fury. Lopez will stick around longer after he gets his court case with his son figured out.

 

Lopez is in a big court battle with his ex wife. He ain’t going anywhere
