Helenius looks like an undercover cop assigned to infiltrate a Neo-Nazi group.

DIFFERENT Behavior from Joshua, for Sure, but Not "Strange", Necessarily, in REED's Opinion...

Seems EDGIER than Normal, Which is Understandable Considering the Last-Minute Nature of Things AND the Fact the Last Time He was In this Position, Joshua Got KO'ed By Ruiz...

Hopefully AJ Brings THIS Attitude to the Ring w/Him Tomorrow Afternoon...

Anything to sell the fight I guess. It needs selling.

Not gonna watch it but I'm actually rooting for Helenius, Joshua's trash talk is beyond tedious for me now, especially when he turns up and is absolutely petrified to take any risks. Also, the whole "why are you staring at me" shit, it's a fucking staredown mate, what were you expecting? :Jest:

In fairness he only took a safety-first approach in two fights so far.

I believe it is more of a case of his one-sidedness as a fighter (after the injuries ended his prime). Some of his better performances have been against the better opponents too.

As said, he is made to defeat slow, plodding guys. Brewster and Peter fell easily when Helenius was in his prime, and his later good Ws, Teper and Kownacki twice, were similar. I discount the Whyte bout because Helenius was sick back then (the performance was an embarrassment although he went full rounds).

However if the opponent is sharp at all, Helenius is in trouble. Gerald Washington was no better than Kownacki (in fact he list to him), but took Helenius out with a sharp attack. Wilder was stylistically nightmarish for Helenius who, against his own style tried to be aggressive. Of course, Wilder was far too good anyway.

Here, if Joshua either fights carefully or uses calculated aggression, he should beat Helenius quite easily. But if he tries too hard to make a statement, Helenius has a tiny chance with his counters.

Wouldn’t be the least bit shocked to see an upset here. It’s AJ. He’s not as mentally fragile as Golota was, but still fragile.

IF Helenius is still standing after 3, he's got a shot.

AJ Still Seems LEERY of Getting Touched Up...Fought Primarily Off the Backfoot, Landed a Jab or 2 of Consequence, but Not Much Else...
