I meant more in terms of ability for Nunn rather than overall achievement. Missed making it clear.

Ramos was a great fighter imo. Lower end great maybe with a brief peak, but absolutely elite in terms of skill and physical ability at his best and extremely unlucky to come along in the same era as Saldivar and Ortiz.

MAG was easily one of Oscar's top 5 best performances. His jab had never been better. Weird to list that one.

You were the one who went off piste in the first place daft lad when you dismissed Ramos out of hand as an arguably great fighter, which gives the impression that you know fuck all about both him and the era in question. He's a HOFer who was both the lineal featherweight champion and a world class lightweight.

I mentioned Gonzalez because of how the way you overrate him shows, to me, an ignorance of past fighters. And then you compared Ramos to Reggie Strickland, which saves me having to ponder further or ask the question. All I'm wondering now is whether you're trolling or just being dense.

 

Sugar Ramos is not an all time great fighter. Not by my metrics. Perhaps we have different definitions of all time greats. You seem offended, mate.

Neither he nor strickland are all time great fighters.

 

Sugar Ramos was plenty formidable at his best. The night he beat (and unintentionally killed) Moore, he'd be a handful for MOST featherweights in history.

He had the misfortunate of running into one of the 5-7 greatest featherweights ever in Saldivar.

I personally wouldn't consider Ramos an ATG based on accomplishments. I have no problem with him in the Hall, since much lesser guys are in there.

H2H I could see him beating a lot of ATGs at 126.

Same boat as Ramos. Didn't get enough done for ATG; however, I think Nunn deserves to be in the Hall. I see no reason why a guy like McGirt is in there over Nunn.
