Shakur looked like Sugar Ray Robinson until he met De Los Santos. Easy to look good against brawlers with zero defense. First live body and he looked pretty average.

They won't do it. Too busy trying to keep the remnants of the British contingent viable. Josh Vs DuBois ends that.

Dubois is nothing special but seems like a genuinely nice dude, probably too nice for his chosen profession. The "friends for life" stuff after the fight was quite endearing.

Well, let's see. In the Fighter of the Year discussion, someone mentioned Navarrete's name. According to Xplosive, he's considered nothing more than a punching bag. If Navarrete is indeed a punching bag, then what does that make Valdez, who Navarrete gave a thrashing worse than Shakur Stevenson? Are you overrating Valdez, or is X underrating Navarrete? Let's analyze that.

I found it interesting that you say I love bitching and moaning about Black fighters when I've been a strong supporter of Haney and even nominated him as a top contender for fighter of the year. It's not about criticizing black fighters for me. I've given Haney the credit he deserves.

Regarding Shakur it's not that I think he's a bad fighter. in fact...he has tremendous potential. Honestly fighters like him often prove me wrong. Much like Teofimo whom I initially doubted but turned things around and has impressed me lately. I wouldn't be surprised if Shakur showcases his talent in the next fight. But I'm not ready to call him a generational talent just yet lol. Only time will tell how great he can become.

Well I was being facetious but Xplosive did say he was a generational talent, but to be fair, he later clarified that it was not meant in a Mayweather, Sugar Ray Leonard, or Mike Tyson way. Let's just say he has lots of potential and I'll leave it at that.

BoxFan really has a hard-on for Shakur. He seems to care about him a helluva lot more than I do.

A couple of weeks ago. He looked unimpressive in winning a decision over Edwin De Los Santos. Since then, some posters (like BF) have labeled him a fraud, while most of us agree that we need more evidence to determine what Shakur really is.

I'll be the very first to admit - Shakur is NOT beating Haney, Davis, or Lopez performing like that. He would have to raise his level.
