Can’t blame Clubber for that. Micky’s heart was already showing signs of weakness when thunder lips was beating the breaks off the Italian meatball. Micky should not even have been there.
Absolutely. Simply because he pushed the ref before the killing. But if drago just killed him from fighting, not a chance
Btw I don’t know if you guys are into reaction videos but I watch reaction videos of people seeing movies I already saw. And the rocky ones are terrific. Seeing people learn the character and watch the movie for the first time is fun to me.
Yeah. If Clubber had pushed Mick down, and Mick hit his head and died, then Lang would be looking at jail time, but I'm sure an autopsy would have shown that Mick's heart was a ticking time bomb. Drago on the other hand, pushes the ref across the ring as the ref jumps in to stop the fight, and proceeds with the assault that kills Apollo. That's man slaughter. There would have been no Rocky vs Drago if it was real life. It would have been Drago vs Big Bubba his cell mate.
Anyone feel the creed movies, while good, are missing something? That scene where Jordan is running with the atv, seemed cringe to me. And the boxing isn’t dramatic enough. Seem like made for tv a little.
Maybe unpopular opinion. Without the gear, clubber is Rocky’s hardest punching opponent. And clubber with stamina would destroy rocky
Plus, if it was real life, we're talking about the 80s... the height of the cold war. A hated Soviet willfully killing an American sports hero... they might have pushed for a murder one and capital punishment.
That's not an unpopular opinion. I think most people generally accept that Lang was a better fighter than Drago.
Paulie: Why They Carryin' Him? Mick: He's Walkin'... Rocky: How Much You Think He Eats? Mick: About 202lbs... LeRoy Neiman: "...Weighing 202lbs..." "LIGHTS OUT MEATBALL!!!" EPIC Scene from an Obviously EPIC Franchise...Underrated Comedic Writing That STANDS the Test of Time... REED
Funniest scene in part 3 was creed trying to run slow so rocky would win. That always stuck out to me.
Not necessarily reaction, it’s more of a discussion podcast, but I’ll listen to Bill Simmons/The Ringer’s rewatchables episodes while I work. Makes the day go by faster. They did Rocky 3 and 4. One of them had a theory about Brigette Nielsen and Drago’s promoter. Between rounds of the Drago-Creed fight, the guy is smoking a cigarette, and gives her a drag. He holds the cigarette for her while she takes a drag, and she smokes it in a sort of sensuous way. So the theory is that they are having an affair, and adds to Drago’s anger before the last round when he grabs him and drops him to the floor. I listened to the Big one the other day. They kept pointing out “Elizabeth Perkins seems awfully okay when she finds out she’s an accidental child molester”. She literally smiles when she seems Tom Hanks turn into a 13 year old boy.
I didn’t like the ATV scene. But I liked the training sequences overall, it reminded me of the drills I would do when I worked out at a boxing gym. And I really liked the fight scene with Gabe Rosado, with one long take.
