These two guys have something in common: Of all the elite light heavys of the 70s and 80s, they're the only two not in the HOF. Foster, Qawi, Spinks, Saad, and Galindez are HOFmers. Hill is a HOFmer. And as of this year, now Moorer is as well. Anyway, who wins between these guys? Both extremely talented. Conteh was a better infighter, and was much more active, but Eddie had way more power and a far better chin. Perhaps that would be the difference.
Great fight. I think EMM was a bit tougher and survives the war. If he attacks Conteh's body like he did against Marvin Johnson he would wear Conteh down and get a late stoppage.
Agreed 100%. Conteh could beat Eddie if Eddie is having an off night, but in a MM we assume both guys are their best versions. I agree that the best version of Eddie stops Conteh late.
