Superfight mythical matchups that might have been one sided

List some examples of potential superfights that never happened that may in fact have turned out to be blow outs. Stipulation is it has to be a matchup that was actually discussed in its time, not some random mythical matchup.

Some examples I can think of:

Lewis-Bowe: Growing up as a New Yorker, I wanted to believe Bowe could whup Lewis. Looking at it with objective eyes now, I think Lewis would have probably smoked Bowe inside of 7.

Leonard-Pryor: Ray would have destroyed Pryor imo.

Trinidad-Norris: Again, when I was younger, I acted like Terry had a legit chance. Realistically, Tito would have murked Norris.

  2. Flo-Raiden

Duran vs Arguello: Duran would have overpowered and maul Arguello to a stoppage similar to Pryor but in worst fashion.

Pacquiao vs Valero: Fun brutal action for the first 2 rounds before Pac starts smoking Valero with his faster handspeed and nonstop punching to a stoppage.

Mayweather vs Hamed: A complete schooling and humiliating beating of the Prince.

GGG vs Martinez: GGG would have grinded Maravilla down and stop him inside the distance.

Camacho vs Chacon: Camacho bamboozles and completely shuts down Chacon either by decision or late stoppage.

RJJ vs Michalczewski: RJJ gives DM a one sided beatdown and KO's him late.

I think Pryor vs Mancini was pondered at times in the early 80s. Quite obviously... Mancini would have gotten the ever living shit beaten outta him.

Julian Jackson could have faced either Michael Nunn or James Toney in the early 90s. Personally I think he would have gotten completely schooled by both of them, although he might have a better chance with Nunn.

Froch - Calzaghe. Froch chased the Welsh cokefiend for years but Joe was all wrong for him. Terrible style matchup and Froch would have been slaughtered imo.

Benn - RJJ. Was basically pencelled in that the winner of Benn-Gman would fight Roy next. Luckily for Benn, he lost all interest after that fight and it never happened. Love Nigel, but he'd have a punchers chance and not much more.

Tyson Frazier. Very likely Mike gets him out early. The tree doesn't fall far from the apple.

Eh eh! You didn't read the criteria. Has to be a matchup between contemporaries that was actually discussed.

Duran-Pryor is another one. I think Duran would have kicked the living shit outta Pryor.

Agreed 100% but it wouldn't have been a "big" fight at the time. It would have been to some extent amongst hardcores like us, but Froch didn't become a name since he made it on Sky.

If Calz and Froch had fought circa 09, Froch would have had his moments, because Calz was getting long in the tooth and Froch was in his physical prime.

Against the 97-05 Calz, yeah Froch gets pounded for all 12 rounds.

Maybe the scheduled 2003 fight between Toney and Hopkins.

Hopkins would have been moving up from 160 to 190.

Lennox-Tyson in 96’ would have been competitive for a couple more rounds than their 02’ fight, then probably fell under a similar pattern of Tyson eating monster right hands over and over again.

Also, when the fight was in negotiations, it was supposed to be at 150, making it even tougher for Pryor.

I don't know if Lewis could have beaten the Tyson from the Bruno rematch.

Froch would have beaten calz, close but clear.

Hamed-PBF is the clear winner for me. Boy that would have been a trashing

I don’t think Mayweather-Freitas in 01-02 would be competitive either

I don’t imagine Mancini doing much against Camacho if they had fought 4-5 years earlier.

Agreed. Legit can't see any way Floyd wins that barring a freak injury or something.

Wlad Vs Lewis......it's worth noting that Lewis would have never been out of danger himself, not till it was over. But I also think that pre-Manny Wlad has the best chance.

yeah, just popp his fight against McCline and Botha, and tell me he wasnt the same safety first guy. Hell, Stewart Wlad was much more offensive against Byrd than early Wlad

    Easy Question:-

Is he more offensive Vs Byrd 1 or Byrd 2?

Is he more offensive Vs Mercer or Peter?

Is he more offensive Vs Brewster 1 or Brewster 2?

Is he more offensive Vs Schulz than Vs Chambers?
